Hi,

out of curiosity: Why do people get early biometrics appointments?

Thanks!

It's not an early appointment. The appointment time is listed on the notice, but the ASC might accept an early walk-in AFTER one has received an appointment notice. The logic in this is A) getting it over with at a convenient time and B) the hope of moving the process along. There is no guarantee that it will make the process move quicker, but it is nice to be able to get it out of the way and check it off. We did this for the AOS stage, but we still waited a year for the AOS to be approved.

hi texan, you have a choice of getting biometrics done early. If and if your ASC is approving you to do it early. It all depends on the ASC, some ASC's are strict about it and some are not. But for my situation, i requested an expedite (military reasons) had a joint filing with husband. Ive heard san diego ASC's are strict bout walk in biometrics but still want to give it a shot to help CSC expedite our process. And they accepted due to my reason.

Hi,

out of curiosity: Why do people get early biometrics appointments?

Thanks!

NOA received. They move pretty quickly it seems! At least with this initial part of the process.

Good morning everyone,

Our payment finally cleared the bank yesterday so looking for the NOA1 to show in up the mail box in the next few days. I have a question about some of the members date of I-751 and NOA1 date. I see the NOA1 date is two or three days after their I-751 date. Not trying to pick on anyone but I use these dates as an gauge to somewhat see what Vermont is doing. Do not get me wrong but it takes a few days for the package to get delivered to either Vermont or California. Maybe one or two days for them to open your package, process your payment, produce the NOA1, then a few days mailing time back to your home. I would love to hear someone's story how they received the NOA1 delivered to their home just a few days after sending the I-751. Thanks and I pray you do not take this post the wrong way.

God bless each and every one of you. God's speed with processing the 10 year green card.

Hi John,

If you're talking about the NOA1 date in the timeline above, that is the date when the NOA1 was produced, not when it was delivered. Hope this helps!

For those that have recently filed and used the 11/23/2015 dated forms.

Is the Applicant the same as the petitioner? I got a little confused because when I had called the USCIS, they had told me that the petitioner would be the US Citizen spouse. I thought at this point it's the Green Card holder that's petitioning USCIS to remove the conditions.

Please shed some light on this especially for those that had recently filed.

Thank.

You need to file with your US Citizen spouse or US Citizen whom petitioned you in the first place. Unless their is some circumstance where the US Citizen is not involved in your life anymore then you can but you will need evidence of the situation.

Im the USC spouse.

So Part 1: Applicant info = Wife's

Part 4: USC Spouse = Myself

Now this is where it gets confusing...

Part 7: Petitioner's Statement = IS THIS MYSELF THE USC SPOUSE

Part 8: Spouse's Statement or Individual listed on PART 4 = MYSELF Clearly HERE

Where does the applicant sign and affirm the statements?

When I filed the K-1, I was the petitioner, when I called USCIS, they said I'm the petitioner, is this still the case with i-751 or is the applicant the effective petitioner, petitioning for a change?

For those who recently filed, who signed the petitioner's statement? The applicant or the USC Spouse?

Where does the applicant sign and affirm the statements?

When I filed the K-1, I was the petitioner, when I called USCIS, they said I'm the petitioner, is this still the case with i-751 or is the applicant the effective petitioner, petitioning for a change?

For those who recently filed, who signed the petitioner's statement? The applicant or the USC Spouse?

Hi geraldbonus - can I get a high five for not being the only one that feels like USCIS uses the petitioner and beneficiary terms loose and liberally between applications??!!

To your question:

Part 7: Is completed by the intending immigrant (your wife, in this case)

Part 8: You (as you pointed out)

If you are at all curious as to why the the responsibility as petitioner switched between K1 and now it is because the K1 is driven by the US citizen. The US citizen is asking for permission (visa) to bring in their alien fiancee. Once the 'alien' obtains their permanent residency, they are the ones who are then asking permission of the government to remove conditions and thus they become the petitioner in this instance.

I hope that helps and best of luck to you :)

So that's what I initially thought up until I called the USCIS. The old forms esp the sample in the forums is much more clearer on who signs where.

Thanx for proving I'm not nuts.
