Is it good to call at 30 days or wait till 45 day? any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

It does not hurt to call early, but I am not sure it does any good. They typically give you pre-canned answers : "due to high volume we are now looking at 30 to 45 day processing time.".

When they say "Certified photocopy" what does that mean? does that mean I have to notarize the photocopy of the marriage certificate?

Usually Certified copy means getting another copy of the document (in your case the marriage certificate) from the Issuer. The certified copy has to have the seal or endorsement of who issued the original. A simple copy from a copy machine or even getting it notarized won't work as certified.

Do you have your original Marriage Certificate? You only need a certified copy if don't have the original. When you're submitting the marriage certificate for the IV package, you can make a copy of it using a copy machine and that's fine. The original marriage certificate plus a copy it will be expected to be brought in during the interview.

Hope that made sense.

Got good news for comrades having similar timeline as mine, I just got off the phone with NVC (Lily, so pleasant a lady). We now have a case number & IIN. I completed my D-261 while i was on the call with her and she told me no need to fill that out online. Now we await the AOS bill so we can make payment. I am overly joyous....
