Hi guys! This site is so informative. My f will be sending our packet next week and we are hoping it will be routed to California!!! *crossedfingers*

Btw I'd like to ask if I need to submit a statement of how we met as the beneficiary? Or only from my f? We don't want rfe so anyone would want to make this clear? Thanks!!!

Goodluck everyone!

Hey there,

Technically, the US citizen is the one filling out and arranging the packet. So the Declaration of How You Met should be written and signed by the USC and you only need one of those. It doesn't need to be a page long - just concise and quick/easy to read.

As far as I know, all of the new petitions are being routed to California so that should help you out with the speed of this process.

Good luck!

Does anyone have contact information for the doctor that does medical exams in Cape Town SA?

I see one listed on the Johannesburg consulate page but don't know how current it is.

FYI for anyone else needing it.

It is current.

I found a pdf with the same information.

Hi guys,

We sent everything off yesterday on the 19th, long ways to go yet but we are so excited to be together.

It seems like people are all being sent to CSC now, regardless of state, is this still the case?

They cashed our check today but I never received the email or text. :/ I know it was the first page of our packet. is it normal to receive that after they cash it? I know it's a minor detail. I am just so excited that I know they have it. I just want to know if it is being transferred.

I have seen other posts where people receive the email/text approximately a day after the check has cleared.

I mailed my packet 1/9 - received a text and email on 1/15 that my packet was received. Online at USCIS it shows a date of 1/12 -

my check was cashed 1/15. So I am going to assume that after they enter the file into the system and a case number is generated - is when they cash the check.

2nd go round
