Waiting for NOA1...

Uggh. I don't mean to be so impatient, because I know CSC people wait much longer, but day 5 here- no NOA1, no check cashed.

I am having a million worries that I didn't send enough e-mail's...

When I look at other VSC filers recently- the check is cashed much sooner.

Unfortunately, I don't have online banking, so can't even get the case number of the back of the check, God willing it is cashed.

1.) A lack of emails wouldn't effect the NOA1.

2.) Emails aren't even the most important evidence at this stage - they are secondary evidence, so either way, don't worry about them or anything else. Sit tight.

E-mails in the initial petition are virtually nothing evidence because your primary concern is to demonstrate having met within the previous two years and e-mails do not do that....

I submitted zero e-mails!

No two cases are alike and neither is the processing of them. I have even heard of some receiving word of their NOA2 before ever getting a NOA1. So just relax... good luck!

You have quite some waiting ahead of you in the K1 process, so you can learn to be patient now

I got my NOA1 about 8 days after I sent mine in, so be calm, everything will go ok.

Even the timelines here for the last 3 months show an 8 day average for VT filers to get NOA1. You're FINE!

Thanks for the encouraging words! I know deep down five days is nothing to worry over, and that e-mails are not considered at this stage.

I got anxious because I saw several entries of NOA1 at Vermont/check cashed in just 2-3 days.

I don't know how people know they got the NOA1 BEFORE the check was cashed, and then 3-8 days later posted it as received snail mail.

I thought you couldn't know if you had an NOA1 until after the check was cashed. And, following that you could use the case number to register to receive e-mails.

Any clarification?

The case number is on the NOA1. For people who get their cancelled checks back from the bank - the number is apparently on the back of the cancelled check. I don't get the checks back, so that way wouldn't have worked for me. Most people see their checks cashed before the NOA1, but not all.

There's no 100% formula here and about 1000 different ways the process can go for people.

So shut down your computer, go talk a walk or rent a movie, have dinner with friends, have a bottle of wine, and stop sweating what you absolutely cannot control right now.

Don't sweat the cashed check thing. My timeline shows my check being cashed on March 1 because that's the date stamped on the back, but it's the day Vermont deposited it. The money didn't come out of my bank account until March 7.

Your check could be cashed right now and you just don't know it.
