Hey guys, I have a question regarding the paperwork needed for the interview. I was looking at the link on how to organize my documents (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/324161-how-to-organize-your-documents/) for the interview and I noticed that the VJ member had copies of their I-864 as well as other financial documents in the folder. Is it really necessary to bring these documents, especially of they are not requested in the P4 letter? I was planning to just follow the instructions in the letter (US ID photos, passport and original civil documents), results of my medical examination, and proof of relationship (i.e. photos, travel documents, etc.). I don't want to have to fuss with too many unnecessary documents, if possible. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! Well, i'm the type of person that goes by the quote "better to be safe, than sorry". So, at the interview I had all the documents that I have previously sent to NVC, including ALL the financial documents, with i-864 in original and not a copy.

In my case though, they didn't ask for any financial document. Nothing at all! I'm not sure though how it is for your embassy but my advice would be to have at least an i-864 in original and the latest IRS Transcripts. Just in case. It's up to you I guess, but as I said at the beginning it's better to be safe than sorry. In the end it'll all be worth it, cause you'll get to be with your other half. So a lil bit of fuss might go a long way :)

Good luck!

Hi hi ....

Do I need to make interview schedule online at the embassy website? I already got the P4 letter from NVC for Jan 12 interview at US embassy Abu Dhabi.

What do you mean make an interview schedule. You just got your interview. For some embassies they require ustraveldocs site for visa tracking and visa pick up. Go to your embassy site to see if you need to register.

Hi Guys,

I have two questions.

1.) My expedite request was approved on Monday, but my case still in NVC. How long does NVC usually take to send expedite approved cases to corresponding US Embassy? - Singapore for mine

2.) Does my wife need to present my original US Citizenship Naturalization Certificate during her interview?

Thanks!

Hey Mike! I can only help you with your 2nd question, as I am not sure about the 1st one. So no, your wife doesn't need to have the original US Naturalization Certificate, however you might want to send her a copy.

I had a copy of my husband's certificate but honestly they didn't even look at it.

Thanks for your answer, IonelaC.

You confirmed my thought. I was wondering why they would need to see original document issued their own State Dept.

No worries, glad that I could help :) Yea, I think as long as your wife has a copy of your passport should be enough to prove US status. But i'm a "freak" and asked my husband to send me also a copy of certificate hihi :D And had also a copy of his birth certificate, just in case lol

Good luck with the interview though! Keep us posted when you have any updates!
