Good luck with your interview and biometrics! It would be good if you get the biometrics out of the way. :)

Just an update: The embassy "touched" my file this monday the 14th.... but im still on AP

Did you need to submit new documents? If yes how long ago did you send it? Mine were received November 24th and I'm still in Ap:(

The consulate in Montreal did say it takes up to 8 weeks from the day they received the documents at the consulate, but hoping for faster results. Montreal is known to be extremely slow.?

I believe being touched is when the file is accessed, so for example you could e mail them and they look up your file to say record the enquiry.

It took me a year to go through the process with a K1 without any obvious issues. I am convinced that 11 months of that was it sitting somewhere waiting for somebody to pick it up and do something.

I have a very strong feeling that AP is similar, for the majority of the time nothing is actually being done, just sitting somewhere. And because it is a security issue they have the perfect excuse for inaction.

This immigration nightmare is not ending, every time i think I'm sooo close they ask for something new. I'm the wife of a us citizen my interview was on November 25th and they gave me a 221g saying that I should submit my original nikka nama( marriage certificate in Pakistan) and 2014 tax receipt. which I submitted exactly after a week. After two weeks of being stuck in AP i finally emailed the embassy and i get the reply that is posted in the attachment section of this thread

"Dear Applicant,Your case file in the subject immigrant visa case has been reviewed recently. Pleas note you’re your petitioner's income is not enough to support your visa application. Therefore, please consider submitting a financially qualified joint sponsor’s affidavit of support. This would include an ORIGINAL signed form I-864, most recent years federal tax returns and evidence of employment.

We hope this information is helpful.

Yours truly,
Immigrant Visa Unit"

Now should i mail them through the same way, I did before through their couriers? I'm just sooo tired now, that my brain is not responding, does it say that my visa is in jeopardy or will they return my passport just like that?
please help
is this another 221g? Also i haven't received any reply from their official courier service although they said they will inform should they need anything, but this is the embassy's reply. should i submit the documents on a 221g documents submission sheet ?

You have to do exactly what the embassy request. You need a joint sponsor. They will need to submit 2014 tax return (all forms and W2) or tax transcript, employment letter and most current pay stub. And a I-864. This all has to be mailed to you because its a signature.

Don;t read into it more than what it says. No where it says in jeopardy or return your passport. They are telling you what you need to move forward. Sorry for your delay.

Some of us are put on Ap because they requested additional documents. It just a matter of someone looking at the new documents and making a decision. Either way the wait is not easy it's beyond frustrating.
