I finally received a reply to the email I sent to the consulate of Algiers. They attached the instruction package. We have everything and we did what we were instructed to do, but we still can't schedule the appointment for the interview we are stuck on step #8

I arrived at my POE last night at Phoenix Sky Habour, I feel like I got grilled by the immigration officer at Phoenix, she wasn't too bad though just quite serious and wore bright green latex gloves!! She looked at all the paperwork from the big white envelope and I got to look too as she asked me questions about it and looked at the photos we sent in the original I129F.

She stamped my passport with the date we have to get married by (end of the 90 days) and told me I can apply for my SSN next week or when I'm ready.

I didn't get a "Welcome to America" or anything but I made it :) I'll do a full write up soon.

Good luck to everyone else still in the process keep going it's totally worth it in the end!!!

Hi guys,

Just an update. My POE was Abu Dhabi. It was a great experience. The Immigation officer just asked me 4 questions:

1. Where did you meet your fiance?

2. What were u doing in Bahrain?

3. When is the Wedding?

4. Do you have any children?

When I answered those questions, she stamped my passport. She looked at my documents (2 sealed envelopes) then she reminded me that I only have 3 months to get married. I was interviewed between 8-10 minuted only :)

I am here now in the USA and after 2 days I went to SOCIAL SECURITY office and applied for SSN. My name was already in their system. I should receive my SSN card between 5 working days to 2 weeks max :)

Thanks everyone who helped me in my K1 process! Special Thanks to Greenbaum!

Fiancée visa approved today!

I just had the interview in London. The security, fingerprinting and document submission took longer than the interview itself. The lady who took my documents i.e. appointment letter, passport, birth certificate, police clearances, complimented me on my youthful looks :-) The interview was scheduled for 12pm and I was allowed to arrive half an hour early. My ticket was finally called for the interview at about 3pm, the last ticket of the day!

The officer was a very friendly lady with an American accent who complimented me on my yellow leather jacket, necklace and nails :-) She then asked the following questions after taking my fingerprints again and asking me to take an oath:

1. Where was I born and where was my fiancé born?

2. How did we meet?

3. When did it progress from friendship to romance?

4. How many times have we seen each other since the relationship turned romantic?

5. Where does he live?

6. What does he do for a living?

7. How did he become an American citizen?

8. What do I do for a living?

9. Where have I lived in my lifetime?

I am pleased to inform you that your application has been approved! Your passport will be ready for collection in a couple of weeks.

All this took about 5 minutes :-)

Flights are all booked, good bye London, hello New York!

Many thanks to December filers group for all your help and assistance. Having been quoted US$3,000.00 by an immigration lawyer in USA, we ended paying a grand total of zero dollars to put our application together. Thank you everyone!

I need to know this also... I see flow charts, but it would be awesome to be in a group lime this for the next step of the process. My update is that we are getting married tomorrow, ( just signing papers because this process is ridiculously expensive and I'm not rich) and we are going on our honeymoon to NYC on Monday, we've had his social security card since week 2, and now I'm researching all of this civil surgeon new medical exam he is required to complete. Good luck and congrats to everyone on everything
