The refugee problem, Isis, Iran, Syria, Lydia, Afghanistan, IMO, goes directly the current state of the area. The Middle East was not properly handled when the British empire was broken up. Israel and Palestine is an obvious example of that. Iran is a direct result of the west propping up a royal monarchy that had no business being in charge of the Persians. The revolution in Iran that created the current regime and its anitamericanism comes directly from our support of the shah. We then armed sadaam to fight the Iranians. That backfired. The. We invaded Iraq, and got tired of the war and left. Between that and lack of action in Syria, the resulting power vacuum created Isis. We're just not good at picking leaders in the Middle East. Our half hearted attempts to stabilize the Middle East have done far more harm than good. We need to get in or out. Have a strong enduring presence that will stabilize the region and accept the cost to doing so. Or get out, and stop supporting regimes that don't share our values.

Why does there always have to be cause and effect as if one thing in history leads to another and to the present? I don't see the need for all this reason when we can just as easily resort to nonsense.

The real question is whether god sees them as Muslims. That is the crux of the issue... Because if the answer is yes, then we need to come to terms with the notion that god is evil.
