The Brits have long been famed for their stiff upper lip.

Americans, meanwhile, are thought to be more adventurous.

Now, new research proves the stereotypes to be false - in terms of attitudes to cheating, at least.

The survey of 1,000 adults was carried out by DrEd.com - an online pharmacy and heath advice site.

It found that American men are the least likely to cheat on their partner, while European women are the worst offenders.

Some 57 per cent of Europeans reported they had been unfaithful at least once, compared to 36 per cent of Americans.

Around 31 per cent of American men said they had cheated, compared to 49 of European males.

European women were the most promiscuous 64 per cent had cheated - compared to 41 per cent of American women.

Folks lie on survey all the time ... If there is an opportunity to cheat and get away with it, and someone (American or non-American) is unhappy in their marriage odds are they will cheat.

all this really says to me is that americans are more ashamed of their sexuality than europeans and more likely to keep affairs to themselves. even in surveys.

that.

or... europeans have faith in EU privacy laws and believe their responses really are confidential.

seems a sketchy doctor to me. but probably totally on point with online surveys.

Well then you also have to look at the fact that Americans have sex way less than Europeans. So yeah, if Americans are not really getting it on, then there's not really much cheating going on either. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/intimate-portrait/201703/americans-are-having-less-sex
