My now husband was asked by the CO if his father died when he found out Joseph was marrying a white woman. Totally inappropriate. What excuse would a CO have for posing a question like that ? That was the second interview. The first interview was a mess and ended with a formal filing via my employer against her and she was demoted to a non immigrant interviewing position.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Did you read my post where I said I think it's unfair that countries are being treated differently? That it feels like some people from certain countries (for example Scandinavia) pretty much only need to show up for the interview to be approved whereas other countries have to jump to all sorts of hoops?

No, I can definitely not imagine how it's like but I do realize and think it's awful that people are being treated differently. I also see the other side of the coin where people who have committed fraud have messed up the process in certain countries and it is hard for the CO to see who's bona fide and who's fraud. There's also probably a few CO's who should not even be a CO for various reasons.

No I did not and I apologize for that am not feeling well so had to go to bed after my post. So sorry.

personally I don't think it should end here, to all those who have been treated unfairly and your relationships are breaking apart, would you join me as I send a written in concern to the department of state about what goes on in most of these embassies and also post videos on YouTube for the whole world to know that some u.s embassies are being abusive and that the system isn't fair enough... its gonna be hard but who cares? enough of genuine lovers being pushed to commit suicide by some rude and unprofessional consular officer

Hello, I wouldn't mind joining but the reality is we need to see the letter first and to make any difference a lot of people have to sign it or they will just ignore it like they ignore everything else. The videos, well I have a thread going Support and Rant and one of our ex members started a few videos, not many joined as usual here is the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg5UJltyO6dwPf8HqZBzjUA mine of course is the one that says "by Soloenta" My relationship is not breaking apart but I know of many that have because of this. The process has only made mine stronger. :)

Suicide? Really? I get the issue but come on now. If they're "pushed to commit suicide" it's likely that they have larger issues than immigration.

As I've said, the SCOTUS gave them absolute power after 9/11. Sadly I don't see it being taken back

Spoke to a lawyer who used to be a counselor at a couple of Embassies and he said they do NOT have absolute power and they don't have the legal right to deny a visa only USCIS does which is why they return it to USCIS and they decide.

anytime we come on here to vent our frustrations, people throw books and process at us. We get the process, but the disparities in enforcements are glaringly huge! This is about respect and common decency and again I urge all of you making excuses to go read the reviews. This is beyond the norm.

I know exactly how you feel, but there are others as you can see from countries like Sweden that do understand our problems. But if you ever need to talk about it come join us at the Support and Rant Oct 2015 thread and you can talk to others that are suffering as we are. :( It's so heart breaking.

Right on the nose. Sadly others have ruined it for everyone in high fraud countries so what is the logic? Extra scrutiny for all.

I agree but who knows everything immigration does for those wanting to enter legally is a mystery.

Extra scrutiny isn't the problem, and no I have never felt or said my husband is entitled because I'm American and he's married to me that they should just let him come, the problem is it's a game to the consular working in such embassy's that don't care how they treat you or talk to you, and when you have a bona fide relationship and they still ask for more proof and you provide it and they still wanna play games with a persons life because they don't like there job, or don't like the country they are in, or you google the co and she she has had a issue in the past of given out visas to people who weren't suppose to recieve them, how is this person allowed to still work for any embassy, and another co that is talking with the next co while she is suppose to be interviewing you, and making smart comments under her breath, and treating you like you don't exist! I understand the fraudsters have made it hard for everyone else, but does that mean we can't be treat fairly and with respect?

OMG I so agree with you, in Egypt there are so many cases where the CO tells the husband beneficiary why don't you divorce your wife and marry a really young Egyptian woman, or how do you know your wife isn't having sex with a men in the US while your here? It's insane what goes on and they don't lose their jobs. If we did anything even close we would be fired on the spot! But it seems it's ok to treat us beneficiary and Sponsor as they wish. I'm just sick of this, there are many nights I don't sleep at all others only a couple of hours!

OMG I'm so sorry what you both had to go through and thank God this idiot was demoted, was your employer a law firm? They seem to hire the worst of the worst don't they. I see Port of Entry was given a five they harassed him there also and did you travel with him? I have read and my lawyer agreed that if the spouse immigrating travels with the US spouse it's much better. So happy for you that your husband is home and I see it didn't take to long. :)

Our first interview at the end the CO told my then fiancé that if he wanted to get a visa he had to provide details of what I was working on at work. Given my job, it is probably the only interview that ended with an attempted espionage filing against a CO. He had correctly already answered the name of my employment and the general type of thing I work on.

Thank you so much honestly I have no idea and I don't think they would care or even take the time to watch it. There are other videos my friend that used to be on VJ downloaded them to her account. So if you click on the picture it should take you to the others.

Oh wow that is amazing must be the only reason for the demotion, the rest of us poor peons most likely would be ignored. Still thrilled you were able to seek justice. :)

I think every person should go in with a notebook and inform the CO that they are going to take notes on the interview and then start writing down every question and action of the CO . Make sure to note names.

Feel free to do so. I think if they know that there are "notes" on our side also they won't be so flippant in the way they treat people. If they try to say you can't ask them to show you were the rules say that in their procedural manual.
