This is what the Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico says about the Invoice ID #:

"Fill out the DS-160* Applicants must fill out and submit the form online. Print the confirmation page and bring this page to your interview.

*Please note: Cases with no NVC Invoice number may enter the applicant's date of birth in the following format - YYYYMMDD- as a substitute invoice number."

I have a question if you don't mind. I looked around on your website but couldn't find an answer and VJ is giving very confusing answers.

I am trying to prepare ahead of time and reading the DS 160 form. There is a question that ask for application receipt/petition number. I am wondering if we should put the USCIS one or the NVC one or it really doesn't matter as long as we put one of them?

Use the receipt number from your NOA2 (upper right hand corner) or from your visa interview receipt (top line last set of numbers), as either will do.

Does anyone know if the National Visa Center sends a hard copy of instructions with the case number to my mailing address?

Whoo hoo, just called NVC and got my case number!

I called around 2:30pm EST and I got through under 5 minutes. I had to lunge to the phone as I put it on speaker and went to tidy up the kitchen expecting at least a 15 minute wait.

Yay now I can track things!

I have a question. I told my fiancee to go for her medical on the 3rd of dec because she might have her monthly cycle on the 2nd week of dec. her interview will be on the 23 and her noa2 will expire on march 2nd. My question is, does her visa still gonna be good if she fly on the 2nd of feb?

The NOA2 date is a "we want to hurry up date" that they use to scare everyone into thinking that they have to be processed by then. That date will keep changing every 4 months (automatically you need not do anything) till your visa application expires 12 months from then. If the visa application expires then you go to the back of the line and start over and pay the fees all over again.

Yaayy! And now I guess USCIS had already forgotten our case. Our noa1 was 10/20

I got my NOA1 last October 13th and I thought I would get my NOA2 sometime around Nov 12-14, but until now I haven't got the NOA2. *getting worried*

We got our NOA1 on October 20. Trying not to get worried about it. Hope we all get approved soon!

That's interesting. I was told you have to write a new statement of intent to marry and actually have it notarized if you cannot finish the interview within that 4 month period... Is that maybe an embassy specific thing? I don't know why the London embassy would have its own strict policy about that though..
