Hey a question to all that have already gotten a NVC case number. Which phone number did you dial?

I keep calling the 603-334-0888 and it only takes 2 to 3 minutes to someone to take my call.

Yet I have read that people that got their case number took up to 20 minutes waiting.

Am I dialing a wrong number? Should I call 603-334-0700 instead?

Please help. I want to make sure I'm doing things ok. It's been 13 business days since we got the NOA2 and I'm starting to get anxious. :clock:

NVC will send you a simple letter, that will say "your case has been forwarded" and will tell you what is case number that they assigned. (not very informative on what to do next)

Thank You :)

You'll get a letter with the case number but it will be awhile after your case is approved. Maybe 20-30 days. Best be on the phone and get the case number.

Also:

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil. Sub-forum for Brazil is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Brazil. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Brazil and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa

from their personal experience. Link:

http://brazil.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas_kvisas.html

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

Good luck and God's speed.

Thanks so much :D

Congrats

Thank You :)

Congratulations!

Hi,

To answer your question. I called the 0700 number. I tried 5 times before I got in. It will tell you their representatives are busy and to call back later. But once I ended the call I just redial until I was able to select the option they gave me. I was just on hold for 20 mins until a representative helped me. She was so nice. I was surprise. I thought they will be rude since they must receive about more than 100 calls a day hahaha. Anyways good luck :)

We called 603-334-0888. This is the non immigrant line and yes we only had to wait a few minutes to get our case number. We actually got it on the first try so no second experience. I hope you get yours soon too :)

I am bit confused. When I check my number at the CEAC website it says its still at NVC(which is fine) and it suggested that I should look at the 6 steps. When I go to look at those steps supposedly I have to pay a couple of fees. Also, my fiancé will have to fill out a DS-260 not a 160? Ughhh so confused. Anyone can advise??

Thanks to both of you!!

So I guess both phone numbers work.

I will keep trying. I hope we get our case number before Thanksgiving. :)

You should use the first number 88 but if your fingers slip and dial 0700 <_< then you'll get through the same.

You have to have more patience. You shouldn't be calling much before 14 business days. Normally, it takes 2-3 weeks before you case number is ready. I have never heard the NVC to be quicker than that. :pop: Chill out. Share some popcorn with a friend.

K-1 visa applicants fill out the DS-160.

It will be there. It's rare that a packet doesn't arrive at an Embassy more than 3 weeks after assigning the case number.

Hey, keep your head up, I know the feeling. I got my NOA1 10/16 and still waiting as well. Now 39 days to be exact.

Praying for an approval for us and those who are still waiting.

Yes. I hope we all get our cases approved early next month. This waiting game is surely a pain, but let's all keep our faith up.
