I would just suggest you wait a bit. Your case still needs to be forwarded to the embassy in Venezuela after the NVC enters it.

I'm not super familiar with the workings of the Venezuelan embassy but they from what I have heard they aren't great about the email. You should still get a packet 3 with your interview information and steps you have to take either way.

If you haven't gotten that packet in few weeks I would call the embassy directly.

Hey we got approved on 9th as well and we got our NOA2 notice on 15th. We already got our case number from the NVC as well. I would suggest you call USCIS and figure out if they would mail a copy of it.

My fiancé got both his packet 3 in the mail and his police report today so we are set to schedule the medical.

Both envelope got folded in half in the mail so I was sorta worried about that, but hopefully keeping them under a stack of books for a day or so fixes that!

Happy to see so many people moving forward in their journeys and for those still waiting we are all cheering for you!

I've been seeing some keeners pointing out that they got their case numbers after calling NVC after 10 business days! I was waiting until 20 business days, but with all the positive reports here I'm thinking I will start calling next week.

Does anyone know the process to get an extension on your petition? My expiry date is near the end of March and from what I hear Montreal is backed up on interviews so it's looking like at least a 3 month wait for an interview. Plus I'm thinking I'm going to wait for the beginning of April to avoid having to drive a Uhaul and towing a car through the snow.

Thanks guys, this forum and all of you have been amazing and helped me not freak out during this whole process!

I am still waiting for my NOA2s... I don't know the order of how they are approving cases, is it assigned to different officers by country or something..

My case was received on the 9th with notice date as 13th, still no NOA2, and I have seen a lot of approved cases before and after my case number -_-.....

Is there anyone from China that got their NOA2s already? Just wondering...

For some reason, China applicants are late vetting so have patience. You will not be like most who are here.

For those in the Philippines you probably will not get the NOA2 as PhilPost is very unreliable. Some are getting notification via a email called an "eligibility letter". That will take you to my website where you can view an example. Please be aware that you do not have to wait for the NOA2 to schedule your interview or do your medical. Follow the tabs after you have read the EL and you will see the step by step instructions in what to do to process in the Philippines at USEM.

Get your Embassy Letter and follow the directions. Also, go over to the Embassy's website and read up on what is the process for your Embassy.

Hello,

I am the petitioner and My NAO2 came on the 4th of November. Today I received a letter saying that our petition is now on its way to the consulate in Sydney. My fiance and I submitted the DS-160 form tonight and I was surprise it didn't ask for any payment. Does he pay at his interview? I was also under the impression that we needed a NVC case number to fill out the DS-160, but it asks for the receipt number not a case number. I ended up giving them the receipt number for the I-129f. Did I do it right? What is this number everyone is calling the NVC for to get, and why do they need it? Does my fiance wait for them to call him to schedule an interview or does he call them? Sorry for being so ignorant, I seriously thought I understood the process.. but I guess I don't. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks so much.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Australia.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different processes for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through the Australian Embassy. When you are at the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Australia most there will help answer your questions for the processing of your visa using their personal experience.

Subforum Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/146-australia-and-new-zealand/

Get the Australia K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://canberra.usembassy.gov/nonimmigrant-visas/appointment-checklist.htmlas this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.
