I am working on emails and Skype logs. Now, I have 1.5 years of data to go through. Mostly Skype IMs and videos is how we communicate. I plan to also post some vacation videos on Mediashare and send them a link to view if they want.

With the emails, I picked random ones spanning that time frame to cover 15 pages. Of course, I had to edit some content to keep things they not need read (like work stuff, personal stuff, etc).

IMs are more difficult. That is a lot of reading to filter stuff line by line, especially since I had to recover a year of it from a backup because until months back, did not know this stuff was even needed. So I am trying to filter so many messages of eighteen months. What is the limit? How much of this they want? Should I pick just one day of each month for a year? I still then got to read and filter a month's worth each time.

I just can not copy and paste. Got to protect personal stuff and other people's information.

What did you all do?

Thanks.

So with the I-129F form I need to send in pictures for proof (only proof I have is Skype IMs [few videos from compatability issues], emails, photos and videos together for two weeks). I have other photos I plan to send, like a cake I made for her on her birthday (that I ate in a week), gifts from me she recived, etc. Anyway, when I send them the stash of pictures, say about 100 (that is going to cost me a tank of gas), do I have to right on the back of every single one, or can I number them and provide a print out of their descriptions instead? I hate the idea they will destroy everything later because this is money that is hard to earn and they discard it easily. At least they could send it all back. I have to even print a whole another set to send those and copies of everything I sent for 129, to fiancee in Singapore for her interviews. So... two tanks of gas but at least one set I will see again.

Thanks.

I put all my photos into a MS Word document, labeled them in the document, and just printed them out on regular printer paper. Seems to have worked well so far. It was $170 for me to send the documents to my fiance, but she has still been much less expensive than my ex-wife...

Why 100? Pare them down to a more reasonable number. There is no need to send them your relationship history in photo format. The Guide says it best (emphasis added):

Color Photo's of you and your fiance together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a local photo store such as Walgreens (if at all possible) or if not on a high quality printer. Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

You will likely not get them back. I printed out our digital photos on regular paper using a color laser printer. As I recall about twenty, in total.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

I scrolled back through conversations on my phone and took screenshots on pages showing the date. I took about two for each week, then added the screenshots 6 per page in a Word document. We had conversations in Viber, Whatsapp, Skype, and Facebook messenger, so I took samplings from each. Whatsapp allows the conversation (the last 10,000 lines) to be exported as a text file. We had exported this a couple of times over several months so as not miss anything. Pasted into a Word document, it is 1258 pages with a 10pt font. Yeah, a lot. I copied about ten lines from each week into a document, ended up with about 6-8 pages. We ended up with 30+ pages of ongoing relationship evidence, including a one page letter about our relationship.

For photos, we included 24, in plastic photo sheets that hold 3 photos per page. Pictures of us together at several landmarks, events, and with several of her family members.

I don't know how much is needed, or how much is considered too much, but I felt what we sent gave a good random sampling and showed that we have been involved continuously from the start. I've read of people sending in petitions of over 200 pages with evidence, which does seem a little excessive. Of course many people say this is really only needed if you are dealing with a high fraud country, which happens to be the case for us.

My fiance recieved our NOA1 but have to admit being really nervous about proof of our relationship. Ofcourse its legit....we are engaged and I have seen him 2x for 6 weeks at a time. I have supplied paypal transfers of money for things like flights and just help in general. Phone chat logs. Various facebook entries including announcing when there and left and ofcourse our engagement. Also included skype chat history when on video etc, and passport stamps and tickets of flights....but, neither of us are big on photos, so only had one photo of us together. I am about to head over and see him again in a couple of weeks so are going to take photos with eachother and family etc. But now we have already started our k1 I am worried it will be seen as all planned, so to say. I am sooooooo worried. Anyone else out there not have many photos?? Thanks in advance

BTW, the People's Republic of China is also considered a high-fraud county. You only have to observe the hundreds of people struggling daily to get into the US consulate in Guangzhou to get an idea of their intent.

YMMV,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

One thing to keep in mind when submitting relationship proof is that quality is better than quantity. There is no need to send hundreds of pages of chat logs, emails, etc. One method that I used was, I printed one page per month of Skype and Viber logs. I ended up with about 20 pages or so.

Also there is no need to submit a ton of photos. A few quality pictures will suffice. I submitted about 12 photos.

And finally, do not submit any electronic media...or even links to electronic media. They will not view it, they will not click it. If you want them to see something particular in your vacation videos, then you need to screenshot it and send it in as a photo.

OMG 100 photos for real? All I did was do a collage of different photos of us together in different places and with her family some just by ourselves, I had about 3 pages of those collage photos. You do not need to go in that much detail and no videos.

This is basically what we did. We printed four to six photos per page and numbered each photo. Then we attached a type document which referred to the photo number and provided the date, time and description for each photo. The photo quality was OK - we used a color laser and plain white copy paper. This approach worked from our K1 / K2 application through removal of conditions. What is important is that you spend time together and document the time with photos.

When you are apart, provide lots of documentation that you are frequently in contact. For our K1 / K2 application, I sent six to nine months of Skype logs showing daily phone calls that lasted about an hour each. All of these Skype calls were to her cell phone.

I do not believe they really care what you communicate about. They care that you do communicate.

Good luck! :)

All this depends on the photos themseves Rule to follow: if they show postively that you are together in the financee foreign country, then 25

if it is only head shots and can not show where you are, they are going to request more

I was told by one embassy employee as my cousin's husband works in one

they look for 25 for meeting

25 for marriage

25 for honeymoon

i know you are not married but make sure the photos you do send, show you and financee, you and financee family and some in front of a landmark

and yes, label on back date and who is in photo

25? That seem like a lot honestly. The guide they have on this very site says 2-5 color photos. I included 8 with my packet all on different days in different locations but now I am a little worried...

Oh boy, my messages merged.... affects my OCD and my idea of keeping hard copy pictures and electronic Skype log in separate postings. :(

Anyway, where to begin with all this... am frazzled....

JamnSol, that be a good option, but I think cheaper for me to print photos than buy the ink and good photo paper. :) I may cut down the amount of photos to send them, but with the link of the videos, include the pictures I would have sent.

Pitaya,

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide, yes? See, every site will have different information. I forget where but one site mentioned no less than 50 photos.

PatGia,

I do not have the luxury of just gibing them unedited text. That is what is taking me lots of time.

Just, so much has to be removed for their benefit from all these emails. With the limited time I get, I am hoping to get a few pages of each done by the time some fresh printer ink comes in. I really want to get everything out next week.

Zedayn,

So send no links. Okay. I was expecting that if they needed more proof they could access it. As for printing a screenshot of a couple of videos, would they have to be in high quality, or can I do it on a regular tri color cartridge on regular paper? Also, for the landmark types, how about photos of us individually but both photos are sent in. Lots of photos are of us taking them ourselves. Have a few others took. And some professional ones, although my fiancee does think they are so professional looking.
