Empathy for the victim and their family isn't silly and it doesn't require you to agree with their legal position or their stance on guns.

What it does require, however, is for you to step down from a political pedestal that puts the gun lobby above people's lives.

What I see is that the Brady Campaign simply using and revictimizing a family to further their own goals. I am disgusted by them.

The whole situation is disgusting. The family now faces financial hardship on top of bereavement.

Not to sound unsympathetic, but the family went forward with a ridiculous and expensive lawsuit, who ever counseled them and told them that this lawsuit was a good idea, is an idiot. The fact that the family has had prior hardships does not give them the right to file erroneous lawsuits and to expect a free ride when they lose.

People get so wrapped up in the politics of this issue they lose the focus that real people are at the heart of it.

Exactly and what realistically can you do as an individual. I know it is tokenistic but they seem a good business so why not buy from them?

If enough people do the same then certainly I as a business owner would find that very supportive.

Buy from them, sure. But perhaps because of the quality of their products, not because you are pro guns and want to make some arbitrary point by seeing a bereaved family left destitute simply because they don't share your political view if that issue.

A U.S. District Court judge in Colorado tossed the lawsuit, called it "propaganda" and said Holmes' online ammo purchases did not violate any federal laws.

He also ruled plaintiffs should reimburse Lucky Gunner for legal fees.

The plaintiffs appealed that ruling, but dropped it today.

In a statement Lucky Gunner said, "We took the Brady Center's assault against us and the Second Amendment very seriously. Our goal was to protect our livelihood and to protect the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans to responsibly buy and sell ammunition online."
