My interpretation of it is that, having read some of the comments on the first page, that some people don't give a toss about the family and would instead see them screwed over yet again just to prove some philosophical point about frivolous lawsuits and the rights of the corporation and of gun owners.

Why is my interpretation less valid than yours?

One of the tools we as citizens have to change the law is to challenge laws through the courts. My takeaway is that this wasn't a challenge to the constitutionality of the Second Amendment, but to the constitutionality of the Colorado law in the way it intersected with Federal law. Is it constitutional to remove negligence as a cause of action against demonstrably "bad apple" dealers? I think this was a poor choice of defendant -- Lucky Gunner was demonstrably not a bad apple.

Lawyers don't get disbarred for this, nor should they.

I think the corporation should waive the legal fees against the family. The ruling and publicity are worth more.

And yes, I care less about the business (which can probably afford to write off the fees).

I do think pro-gun people should start a gofund me account for the family (its basically donating to the NRA anyway).

It's a bereaved family. If you can't relate to that you need to do some soul searching.
