Any tips for the interview or how to be less nervous?

Hmmm...

Well, the phone number thing is confusing me, since I genuinely don't know my fiancé's number. The address I know, since I was sending him some stuff a few times (I can never remember the street number, though). We're in a long distance relationship and we don't call each other at all, so is it really necessary to know the number? If I make an effort to remember it I'm gonna feel like it's all fake and that it will show.

Well his phone number and adress were the first thing they asked me. Adress I knew, but his phone number I memorized just before interview. I saw other people that didn't know their fiancee's numbers, and they had to look through their papers to find it. For me it was easier to memorize it, or at least write it on a sheet of paper which will be easy to find. All of us were approved that day, but I would rather memorize it then risk anything. True but like i say these are in the list of quesitons they can ask and do ask

the list was given to me by my original attorney

They asked Adil what books i read / ####### my mom and dad were married 59 years and he couldn't have said what books my mom read

that is what i said some of the questions are stupid and riduculous but they ask them

they expect us to talk online about these subjects

I can only really share my interview experience and hope yours goes as smoothly. Like you, I was stressing over questions (I searched multiple sites trying to get a sense of what questions they ask). My fiance was interrogating me the whole drive to the consulate! The truth of the matter is, they want to gauge your confidence level, and how honest your answers are. I was asked the very basic of questions- how did we meet, how did we become a couple, have we ever been married or arrested, what we do for a living. My fiance has three children from a prior marriage, and the CO tried to stump me by saying "your fiance has two kids?" and I answered "he has three" without even having to think about it, and I think that honestly was what made my interview go smoothly. I didn't have to think about my answers, and they weren't able to stump me. My interview took 10 minutes from the time I was called up, to the time I was approved.

Only you know how strong your relationship is, and how well you know your partner. As hard as it is to think otherwise, look at the interview more so like someone just basically inquiring about your relationship like they are meeting you for the first time, and not as an interrogation....hopefully that makes sense.

I would definitely love to know a hypothetical list of questions, so I can continue preparing my fiancee for those questions. I think it's funny my fiancee gets one letter wrong in my mother's maiden name, every single time. But it's close enough for government work, especially since it could be mistaken for an accent difference. But things like "what books does he read" would be useful for me to give my fiancee.

Read "Reviews: Embassy" (link atop any VJ page) for your consulate. Pay special attention to the worst accounts. I'm unaware of any overt horror-stories from your embassy.

I am extremely nervous for my fiancées interview!

He's having his medical exam in 7 days and then we're scheduling the interview at the Bosnian embassy.

I've spent hours upon hours on visajourney preparing everything we need but I'm still scared what if one little thing goes wrong and he's God forbid denied. I would be absolutely heart broken and devastated.

I heard Bosnia isn't that strict but there's always a possibility that theres something the U.S officer might not like.

What if they have a problem with me not earing enough money and having to get a co-sponsor? What if they think its suspious that we don't want to have a wedding? What if my fiancé gets nervous and messes up on an answer?

There's only so much I can do to make sure his interview goes perfectly.

I hope and pray every night that his interview is approved and he gets the visa. I day dream about our future here in Chicago every single day.

Does anyone have any tips to put my mind at ease? I'm a nervous wreck.

Sumeja, is your fiancé going to a doctor in Bosnia? Also, I presume you're going to Sarajevo for the interview? Can you tell us how it goes when you guys go? My husband and I will be going to the same place so I would like an idea of how the employees act lol Hopefully they're not rude!

I was so nervous for my interview on Friday that now I'm sick....haha and you know what? I had nothing to be nervous about.

I was even more scared when my wife couldn't come in with me for the interview.

I just kept telling myself that I have nothing to hide. I did everything I could do, I have all my paperwork, it's in this beautiful organized black folder and I have my backups. Everyone around me is going through the same thing, so I reached out and talked to them. I found that was super helpful and helped me keep my stress down.

My wife and I also went over the interview questions over and over just so we were used to answering them on the fly. Naturally we knew all the answers but of course telling someone who is deciding your future in your spouses country is a little more difficult and can result in a lot of blank moments haha.

In the end, my interview went smoothly, the IO was super nice and friendly. Trust me, they don't want to deny visas and denial is so far and few between.

What will be will be is what I always say. As long as you two have everything prepared and organized, you shouldn't have any issues. Go in with confidence and remember what drove you to do this in the first place You will do fine!
