Hi. I am wondering what will happen. My husband has his interview this coming Friday. He did his medical last week of which nothing was said to him other than he needed additional vaccines which are being taken care of by the ways. I told to check yes that he has smoked marijuana before. He has not done this for over a year n some. He did the urinalysis but they said nothing to him. When I found outthe possible one year ban and psychiatrist procedure I told him to go ask the folks at the medical about it. they told him that if he needed to see a psychiatrist that they would have already told him to do so. All he was advised to was to pick up his packet 2 days before the interview and get two more vaccinations at his local clinic before October 4th. I am wondering ahead what may be his outcome for the interview and if he does get turned down how I can go about fixing that issue.

Most likely he will get a year's delay and random drug tests, but it is hard to say, you need to wait to the interview.

Nothing you can do to fix it. They will either deny him for the drug usage (happens alot with your embassy) or the doctor could have just checked pass.

Like Penguin_ie stated nothing you can do until interview.

Keep us posted what happens.

You dont have to test positive for the one year ban. You wont know what the decision on his drug use will be until they review his medical documents at the interview. The fact that they did a drug test is a red fflag. The doctor is not going to tell him any results. You cant do anything until after his interview. If he has a ban for one year, then he will have to complete random drug tests for a year, redo his medical, interview, etc... All over again.

Checking '"yes" to drug use when it was weed over a year ago was totally unnecessary TMI. What's done is done. I wish you the best.

I gathered my military records this morning of 13 years in the service and decided to write a letter on his behalf based on the current situation. I would be fed exing them to him so he can have it as a back up in case his interview seems to be going south. Anyone thinks this is a good idea?
