lol no, they're just so busy taking money from people applying for tourist visas and updating their facebook page about "educational opportunities" in the US. :protest:

Haaa, yes, that and playing Cookie Jam. :joy:

This morning my 16 year old son told me he's 100% certain he could run the embassy more efficiently from our backyard workshop than the people currently in charge.

Ya know what? I think he's actually right!

If nvc / uscis hires 25% of the vj members who knows about process in details , most of the process will be smooth and more happy couples will be united

Folks here should try and apply for jobs at nvc / USCIS

ha, put him in charge! I swear, even USC services at the Cairo embassy require getting appointments a whole month or more in advance (I've had to do it 4 times)!

Honestly, it should be a requirement that everyone who works in USCIS, NVC and embassies has either been an applicant or a petitioner in an immigrant process. Who else hires someone who has no personal experience in the field they're applying for?

Jumping ahead of myself here..Next month is the interview and I do not forsee a problem as my wife was here for 5.5 months in the USA on a B-1/B-2 visa while we waited for the I-130 to process..So she already was in the USA for under 6 months...On the DS-260 on page 6 down towards the bottom there is a section called Social Security Information..[Do you want the social security administration to issue a social security number and card]..We said YES.. When does she receive this ? After she arrives in the USA or at the interview? also do I need to file the I-765 Application for Employment Authorization ? Or is that only for the I-129F ???

Green card holders and conditional residents don't need EAD to work. Proof of your green card is proof of work authorization.

Speaking of I-129F holders needing EAD, I have 3 friends whose fiancées came to the USA in March 2014, at the same time mine did. They were expecting that it would only take about 3 months to get their EAD after submitting their AOS package and payment, but all 3 of them have only just got their EAD's in the past few months! These guys waited over a year for the ability to take a job.

Thank you for the reply.. It hurt to send her home 5 weeks ago after living together for almost 6 months.. She made alot of friends here in that time...But we wanted to do everything by the book..Hopefully she will be back 2 weeks after the interview. I will wait till she has the visa in hand before I buy her return ticket....

Smart move. I think the embassies you know only have so much space and I know they don't send petitions usually more than 30 days out . But I have seen them get case-files 2 and 1 week prior. Let me tell you a secret. That's an indicator of good things.

Remember USCIS has reviewed and approved you but they also make notes. Lets say you were approved but they noted, *Not sure if their ex is still around". It would require further investigation and your case-file would need to get to embassy sooner than a cut and dry case that will take like 2 minutes. Remember the decision is already made before you go up to the window.

Of course case-files do get lost and NVC does send out late as we saw with our dear sis here from Tunisia. So I also could be full of BS. LOL :goofy:

Lol! It's funny you said that dwheels76 as I just check our status on the CEAC website tonight and it shows "In Transit". I Tried to locate our case package on the DHL website, but came up with nothing. Is it possible that our case file is still at the NVC?
