Hello visajourney members,

I need advice from you guys. If a person marriage USC and the marriage terminates after three years of marriage which is after successful removal of conditions i.e 3 months after removal of conditions and marry another person after a month after the divorce is finalized, were there be problem getting into naturalize after 5 years of GC approval?

Your advise is highly appreciated.

I am going to say probably not.

There was a thread on here that it did cause some issues. That person had to show proof of their marriage and reasons for the divorce, as the dates were so close. I would not take it for granted that they wouldn't look into those dates and be prepared.

I wonder what type of documents would they be asking for besides what was sent during ROC? I would say being together for 3 years has lots of docs. Would be helpful if you can give some advice. I must say i was in H1-B when i married, my employer had filed I-140 before our first interview. Later on, that I-140 was merged to I-130 and GC was issued. Unfortunately we started having problems towards the end of our third year. Anyways i will be filling for my application for Citizenship in few months. Lets see how this all rolls out for me.

What has happened has happened already. So what is the best way to tackle this situation is the next thing i am looking forward from hearing from VJ members. Any suggestions guys if you think i might be looking into some trouble. if so what should i do to alleviate the problem?

Showing proof of bona fides isn't a problem. They already filed the removal of conditions. Simmer down.

...The date is so close, it definitely raised suspicious if I am the person reviewing your file...there a lot of sham marriage. I am not saying yours are ..but the pattern is pretty common.

You are an alarmist and your answers are not helpful.

OP:

Unless your second marriage isn't bona fide, you will not have issues. Congrats.

This is the most recent thread with divorce and 5 year rule.

I have saved all the docs until the ROC and even until we separate. So lets see how this goes. I know everyone has unique case. But i was just wondering if there are anyone who is going through my situation and how their cases have been resolved. Thanks ontarkie for the link.

I agree it isn't a problem. Regardless, it is also something to keep in mind, albeit possibly the back of it. It's nice to be on top of something should it ever arise. If it does not, so be it.

Simmer down.

Needlessly condescending.

There's that smell again...

it should not be a problem, i am in the same boat and my oath ceremony is soon, the interview was smooth , all was good, as long as you keep all document just incase they ask for any, and no arrests/DUI's and so on, Good luck!

Unforgettable.
