Hi everyone..

We are new to this forum as we are recently married with the K-1 visa in hand :D

we are in the process of getting our I-485 package together and we are confused about this I-693, I-693A issue.

the step by step guide says...

I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)

he had the medical exam, got the copy of the chest x-ray and received a sealed envelope that was taken from him as he entered the US.. but has no report? how do we get the I-693A form to send in with our AOS I-485 package?

Thank you for any help you can offer.. :)

Yeah, what is the deal with that? I think I read something about having to go to a civil surgeon and having him fill out I-693 before submitting the I-485...I dont know though, as I just married with a K-1 yesterday.

You were supposed to receive a DS3025 from your panel doctor at the medical.

A lot of doctors simply don't do this and you have to be assertive enough to convince

them.

This DS3025 is your vaccination worksheet that you take to a Civil Surgeon here

to transfer the vaccs to the I693A.

(If you do not have the worksheet then ask to get it send from the panel doctor where

you had the vaccs done.)

The other option is to see a Civil Surgeon here to take a blood titre so he can

determine which vaccs if any you still need.

You do NOT need to do a second complete medical, find another CV

if they won't cooperate.

Too many CV here insist on redoing the entire medical for a lot of money.

Go through the list and call as many as you can until you find someone.

It does not have to be a CV in your state and if you find one out of state, some

will do the transfer by mail for $10-$20.

So, you got to do the transfer before you can file the I-485?

Yes. A few people have gotten by without submitting it but I would not risk it, not worth an

RFE and delay.

Especially if you have incomplete vaccinations.

My wife had vaccinations completed at her medical and a copy of the DS-3025. I submitted that with our AOS package. At the interview everything went well and the officer looked at the medical and DS-3025 and told us everything was perfect. She was approved at the interview without any problem. Yesterday she received her "Welcome to the US" letter.

Of course if your vaccinations were not completed at your medical this will not work. And you can complete your vaccinations and bring the documentation to your interview after submitting the I-485.

We found a civil surgeon to trasfer the information for us for $15, but my musband needs the chicken pox vaccine (he had it as a child btu we do not have the medical record) so now we have to pay $82 to the local health clinic to give him the shot (the CS wanted more than $200 for the same vaccine and office visit) and then take this record to the CS adn they will sign off on the I-163a!

Thank you for all your helpful information :) We did find a Civil Surgeon who would fill out the I-693A form from his vaccination record. Also gave him a couple of shots that he needed. Our AOS was mailed off on 6Mar07 .. keeping our eyes on the mail box waiting to hear from them hehe.

Thank you again :)

speaking of sealed envelope, is everybody getting a sealed envelope from the civil surgeon too??? how do we know what is in there is valid, and that the uscis won't lose it? it seems pretty common to get an rfe on the medical no matter what you do?

some clarification please

4/28/06 sent I-129 package to NSC

5/1/06 NOA1

6/10/06 case transferred from NSC to CSC

7/3/06 rec'd IMBRA

7/11/06 touched - IMBRA rec'd by CSC

9/1/06 touched - email NOA2 - approved!

9/21/06 NVC letter stating package sent to Caracas

10/5/06 & 10/14/06 DHL website confirms CCS rec'd packages (hopefully one of them was mine)

12/10/06 Interview - passed

1/5/07 arrival to US

1/27/07 marriage

putting together AOS package - confused about medical - translated personal immunization record myself, went to ACS, paid fee, got documents in a sealed envelope "DO NOT OPEN"

3/26/07 mailed AOS & EAD to PO BOX

3/28/07 delivered

4/23/07 Biometrics
