Hello Enoo, Once you received you NOA1 you just have to wait for your biometrics appointment, mine came with the NOA1's so I walked in like 3 days before my appointment I just had to wait for the other scheduled appointment to be done before they called my name but it was pretty quick. Anyways after your biometrics is done you have to wait again (waiting is the name of game), for your interview appointment mine came pretty fast like a month after I filed my papers, I was ready to wait for like 6 to 12 months for an interview but they processed my papers super fast even the IO on the phone I talked to was surprised. As of now I do not have my EAD card which I do not need anymore if it came by mail since I was already approved as Permanent Resident on the day I was interviewed and I am just waiting for my Welcome Letter and my GC of course. I went to the USCIS San Bernardino Office for the interview.

Hoping your case will go as fast as mine did. Good luck.

Thanks for your response. However,I think we are talking of two different things. I was talking about F2A visa.....bring alien spouse and children of permanent residents to the US. I guess that is what this thread is all about. It is not about adjastment of status for those who are already in the USA

I was thinking ahead. When would the Police report be required to submit? Is it submitted to NVC after I-130 is approved or to the consulate during interview?

It is submitted to NVC together with the civil documents (part of the visa package)

But, assuming there is a wait, about a year, do you have to get a new police report before the interview?

Depending on the validity of the police clearance in your country. Like in my case before, since the validity of the clearance in the Philippines is one year, I did not need to bring a new one cause the one I submitted is still valid during the interview and was acceptable to the US embassy in the Philippines.

It a case to case basis, depending on your country.
