A very late August filer here, but an August filer all the same. Mailed my husband's AOS packet on 8/28/15 and it was delivered to the Chicago lockbox on 8/31/15. Let the waiting begin....

Mailed I-129F in July, 2014 and nearly a year later he was able to schedule his interview and receive his K-1 visa. Hoping this part of the process moves faster, but from the sounds of other posts it does not. Nice to find other August filers and track our progress together!

Hi and welcome! I filled I-129F in July, 2014 as well. At least this time we'll be in the US during the waiting period. Did you file for AP as well so you can travel back to Canada? At least we're not completely stuck and we can be with our loved ones :)

Yes, I filed for EAD and AP as well. I'm sure the wait this time will be much easier!

Congrats! That's really fast :) You're the first one to come with big news. If you get the Green Card you won't need the EAD card to be able to work.

We are still waiting for news...nothing changed on the website, did biometrics walking on August 19th...Patience.

This is very fast, congrats!

You dont need to worry about your EAD(work permit), once they approve your green card after interview your green card will cover the EAD.

Did you complete your fingerprint? I dont see it on your timeline.

Wow, that's fast! I was told this process would take a year but if you're already on the interview stage I can't imagine that they would make you wait that long! Hope the rest of us will be that lucky ;)

Figured I might as well post an update even though nothing really around my AOS has happened.

Went to Sweden on Emergency AP on the 25th and now I'm ironically waiting to be able to go home... I was supposed to run a 5k on the 19th this month but I've realized I won't make it. I requested to have my new name registered here in Sweden which means I will also need a new passport. Even with expedited name change I won't have my passport in time. Kinda disappointed because as much as I feel I need to be here for my mother I was really looking forward to doing the 5K on the runway at Dulles Airport to have something else on my mind plus I'll be going back here soon anyway. One day at the time :)

Glad to see some progress here at least and hopefully soon I will make some progress on my own :)

For those that have just done a walk-in biometrics, what do you have to have with you when you walk in? I am going to try to find the location nearest me to see if it's even close enough to risk just walking in ahead of time and getting it done.

Also, anyone have any experience with getting a U.S. driver's license or state issued ID card yet? I'm wanting to get that done, but some threads seem to suggest I have to wait for the EAD card first.

When you go and do the biometrics (whether it's as scheduled or an attempted early walk in) you will have to take with you the biometrics appointment letter from USCIS. There is no way of doing the fingerprinting without that paper in hand...

When you receive the letter in the mail it will state what you have to take with you and where your appointment is scheduled to take place. Usually it's the appointment letter and the passport, but I took with me a copy of the marriage certificate, as I have changed my name after the marriage and the name in my passport was different. There was no mention of that in the letter from USCIS, but to me was common sense they would need it and indeed they did.

So be patient, you'll surely get the biometrics appointment in the mail pretty soon. Going to a location without it it will only result in loss of time.

I don't have any information about state ID and driver's license...if you figure it out, please share.
