Don't mention it...I'm already tired of stalking their website lol...

We all know it goes different for everybody...morkie who did the biometrics in the same place I did (Port Chester) has the interview in Connecticut. We have the interview in the Big Apple where there are thousands of cases waiting in line....so I guess that would be the obvious reason we're still lacking in progress...You know, there's only one thing I can think of all the time..."patience", but it's getting hard at some points...

Timeline

When you go and do the biometrics (whether it's as scheduled or an attempted early walk in) you will have to take with you the biometrics appointment letter from USCIS. There is no way of doing the fingerprinting without that paper in hand...

When you receive the letter in the mail it will state what you have to take with you and where your appointment is scheduled to take place. Usually it's the appointment letter and the passport, but I took with me a copy of the marriage certificate, as I have changed my name after the marriage and the name in my passport was different. There was no mention of that in the letter from USCIS, but to me was common sense they would need it and indeed they did.

So be patient, you'll surely get the biometrics appointment in the mail pretty soon. Going to a location without it it will only result in loss of time.

I don't have any information about state ID and driver's license...if you figure it out, please share.

Thank you! I'm sure the appointment letter will be here in a week or so. If I find out any info on the DL or ID, I will be sure to post it. You guys are awesome!

Wait, did you get a letter from USCIS stating that your interview location is NYC? Did you see the I-485 Data set issued in June for NYC? It says as of June 30, NYC office has about 15,797 Adjustment of Status applications! And in three months they received 5,377 new applications, so doing the math, I guess our I-485 will be approved in time for the 2020 Olympics? :P

Or we would get our petitions transferred to CSC and get our Interview Waived and have our GC's in about 3-4 months! #wishfulthinking

I think I want to move to Vermont, coz their case load is in double digits! :D

Applied for a new passport in my new name today so hopefully it will arrive in about 3-5 days. Will most likely go back to the US on the 18th and hopefully around that time I might even have my letter to go do the biometrics.

Hey Tina&Seb.. Welcome to forum!

Most of us here opted for an early walk-in for our biometric appointment and were successful in getting it done earlier than the date specified on the notice. Hopefully, you get yours done soon! Then you can join the waiting game with the rest of us! :)
