Does anyone know what number I need to call to chase up with USCIS on my Biometrics letter? Want to be sure it hasn't been lost and I've missed the appointment.

I would assume it's the regular customer service number: 1-800-375-5283

Hello Hello!!

My husband and I married in June, and we filed for our AOS at the end of August. We received our NOA 1 via email on 8/28/2015 and our letters came in shortly after.

9/10/2015 we received our "interview" letter or whatever for the bio metrics on 9/24/2015 ... Is it normal to get the bio metrics that fast? lol I got really excited when we came back from a mini vaca and saw that! My husband has been the one doing most of the paperwork and what not for this part of the process so I'm a little behind but excited to see how things will go from here!!!

Got our letter about request for initial evidence and thankfully it wasn't because of me... My husband didn't send in the correct papers for the affidavit so it seems like a super easy fix. He sent in some paper that starts with a W instead of the 1040. No idea what it means but he's got it under control :P

I imagine he sent in his W2s? If you have your tax transcript that'll be easier and a lot less paperwork to send. If you do send the 1040, make sure you photocopy every page or you'll get another RFE. ??

Thanks for the number Maria&Steve, I'll be sure to give them a call when I can. Hopefully I'll get home and there will be a letter. Fingers crossed!

Woo! Hopefully you can get that out super quick and the process can jump start again.

I came home and the letter was waiting for me. Yay! I've got my Biometrics appointment September 23rd at 11am. I'm tempted to see if Oakland is good for early walk-ins. I'd rather get it done sooner just so I don't have to wait around for a week or so. But so happy it came and don't have to go through the USCIS phone call of hell! ??

Yeah I'm so glad it was an easy fix. He's going call USCIS to double check he got what's needed and then he'll send it out :)

Glad you got the letter and didn't have to call USCIS. That is never fun :P

That's the day and time I should have been at my biometrcis if it wasn't for my passport mess. I hope that whatever my new appointment in that my local office is okay with walk-ins. Good luck with yours, hopefully you can go have it done sooner so it's over with.

USCIS are so annoying. My husband called to double check what he needed to send in. He does his taxes with Turbotax and it was something about a signature not being there and something else he wanted to double check... They refused him because apparently they can only speak to me... During the whole process my husband has been in charge of the affidavit of support. It involves forms with numbers and letters I do not understand. Why can't they just talk to him who knows what's what???

That's so odd. It might be that the I-485 is applied for by the beneficiary (you) whereas the I-130 is applied for by your husband. It might just be the person that your husband spoke to not really getting the situation, but it might be worth calling again and speaking to someone else. As it's in regards to the Affidavit of Support, you'd hope that the person they would want to speak to is the one supplying the tax documents!

This process definitely takes you to the edge and back that's for sure.

Wow, I can't believe how quickly your case is being handled. What visa are you adjusting from? Most of us have either had Biographics done or waiting for them to be done.

Just got my RFE mail...it states:

Submit all supporting tax documentation(W-2s,1099s,Form 2555,and all supporting tax schedules)submitted to the internal revenue service for the most recent tax year. The petitioner/sponsor's household member must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year.

What should I send?

What did you send in with your application on the I-864? If you sent Tax Transcripts then it would be highly unlikely for you to have been given an RFE. If you only sent the 1040 tax form, then you also have to give all W2's from the recent tax year. If you did submit the 1040, did you supply all the pages? You must supply all the pages if you're going this route. Did you also submit 6 months worth of pay stubs? Did you submit a letter of continued employment?

Let us know what you sent in and we can better advise you on what you'll need to send for the RFE. Don't panic, you'll get it sorted.
