muita genta aqui vai falar que quando voce fica nos estados unidos um tempo illegal ai ja nao da mais e para desistir....mas pessoalmente ja vi muitos casos que nao da nada, e o papel sai rapido do mesmo jeito...

boa sorte!

Mantenha contato e conte as novidades!

Don´t worry, blondedoc!

My case is also very very complicated; I messed up my first one for being dumb and that´s why my husband and I have to go through all the Visa Journey again, get to the interview and beg the officer to forgive me. But nothing is impossible if you love each other, have a real relationship and nothing to hide. We may just need some extra patience and faith but nothing is impossible.

This forum is awesome and people are always there for you. We are all on the same boat (I don´t know if that´s the expression in English or I just made one up due to literal translation from Portuguese lol). Good luck (L)

It certainly does! Thank you very much!

Aw, adaniel, I´m glad to hear that! Yes... specially today, these are important words to read, because I received the notice from the port of entry that I have to send my I-212 (admission to reapply) to the Embassy... (#######... I´m applying for a permanent resident, not for any other type of visa...) and this is completely wrong, once that this is necessary just if I wasn´t a future permanent resident... So... I received all my documets back with no explanation!!! I cried all day long... I swear... And now is start back again at the port of entry and talk with the Senador to see what he can do about it... :(

I´m feeling really happy to have all you guys "around" to exchange situations and feelings!

Ohhhh yes!!! This "boat" that we are it already exist in english lol

I thank you for your support!!! ;)

Luck for all of us!!!

First of all, congrats to all the people that were approved so far! Very happy for you all.

For those of us that will be stuck waiting longer-- and actually all of us-- I have an appeal.

I think all of us can agree that the system for spousal visas is a total mess. People are treated dramatically differently by sheer luck (or lack of) -- for example the 5 months processing time for Texas and Nebraska, compared to one month for California. The process takes way too long -- it seems to take people about a year. This is time that forces many people to live apart, or postpone starting a family, or delay careers, or to live away from their friends and family in the US while they wait for their spouse to get a visa.

It's time to start rabble rousing and complaining to our elected representatives. It's completely unfair that citizens of the US have to wait so long for their spouses to get any sort of status in the US. It's hurting people's lives, and it's something that can be resolved by some good management and perhaps some more resources. Why couldn't spouses immediately be granted a temporary visa while the green card is processed? Why does so much of the communication happen by paper and snailmail when we live in the age of the internet? Why does the NVC take 5 days to process an online payment when at the same time we can buy things online on amazon and have them shipped the next day? I think most of us would be even willing to live with a higher processing fee if that meant we could get the process down to a couple months max.

I think the first step is to start a Facebook page to gather other like-minded people, and start writing to our representatives and the press and get more pressure on the USCIS.

Who else here agrees the spousal visa process is slow and unjust? Who else is with me to make a change?

04/30/2014: Married :)
08/11/2015: I-130 mailed to Chicago lockbox via FedEx
08/17/2015: NOA1 - Nebraska Service Center

I thought I had already posted here but I don't see it. Any way I'm an august filer. Got my NOA 1 Aug 20. I know we got some approved people already. Mostly CSC and Philippines. Any Nebraska approvals yet? I know our estimate is about 5 months but I was just wondering. Actually 5 months for the CR1 is quicker than our K1 was. That process went on for almost a year. Best wishes to all of us...smooth sailing and no hiccups along the journey.

Hello August Filers,

My wife (petitioner) and I are currently living in Australia. Visa Journey thus far has consisted of:

Mailed the I-130 package Aug 19

Email Notification that case has been accepted Aug 27

I-797C NOA1 letter received 11 Sept with priority date of Aug 24 (California service center)

Email Notification notification that I-130 has been approved Sept 22 (Online Case status check says it was approved Sept 18)

Although i have not yet received NOA2 letter, if it is indeed true that it has been approved I am very pleased with this processing time. Hopefully the NVC process goes smoothly.
