Finally!!!! Received my case number today 7/10 over the phone. (13 days after it was received at NVC on 7/28). I went straight online and submitted D-261 (choice of agent and address form) today (7/10), wasn't able to pay any fee because it hasn't been invoiced yet. I'm yet to receive anything in the mail yet from NVC though.. I was able to log on with no problem.

I did see that I had N/A next to everything except the pay fee portion which isn't available yet.

VJ members need your help!

I have applied for reissue of passport to reflect my married name as it is required to obtain police clearance certificate(PCC). Now I have sent AOS and IV package without passport and PCC writing explanation that it is unobtainable at present and will be brought to the interview. I understand that I might get checklist for the missing documents. My new passport will be available in first week of September 2015.
Now DS 260 has opened up and I am worrying what should I fill for passport number details?! should I fill in all other details and wait till I receive my new passport number and then submit the DS 260. Will Ds260 be accessible after 3-4 weeks. I hope it doesn't get locked.
or should I open DS 260 only once I receive my new passport and then fill all the details in one go.
any inputs will be highly appreciable!

Can someone tell me if the Affidavit of Support Documents & Civil Documents ever change from n/a to something else? Thanks everyone

Well, from what I know, it doesn't. I think I read on the NVC process guide that it is something NVC might use in the future, but for now it is of no use.

Hey guys. I submitted my DS-261 online on 6th of August, but when I called yesterday, they just told me they can't review it over the phone right now because they do not have any access to my case. Did that happen to you?

Any idea how soon they will be able to review our DS-261 over the phone? Or how long it usually takes for them to review it?

Also, do we have to request a supervisor to review it or the operator itself would be able to review it?

Thanks!

Hi everyone, hope ya'll are doing great. I received a second checklist yesterday from NVC. I'M SO ANGRY cause they are asking for the same documents they asked for in the 1st CL but this time they haven't mentioned anything about the AOS forms so I'm guessing they are correct. I called nvc yesterday and I spoke with a representative and I don't know if she knew anything. I told her that my mother had to go to Lebanon and get the documents you guy's asked for, there is no way she will be able to get other than what the government gave her. their system sucks and they barely have records of things. so anyways she said she is going to put it under supervisor review for both of my parents. and for me to call back after 3 weeks. I told her i'm not waiting 3 weeks I'm sick of nvc she then laughed and said I know i'm sorry.

my question is in the checklist paper it says " 5____________-marriage certificate______ the national visa center received an English translation of your civil document. you must also send us a photocopy of the original civil document."

do they mean that they want the original Arabic one?? they are asking for the same thing for my mother and dads birth certificate and their non conviction from Jordan, I sent all those translated to English. another thing I would like to know is that in the letter it says "the instructions will ask you to either mail the documents to nvc or send the corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the interview. how can they take them to the interview when they haven't received an interview date?

please help I would appreciate it.

Very good to hear. That is exciting lol.

I think your fee's will be available in 4-5 days and I think you will get your welcome letter in 4-5 days as well.

Talk to a supervisor, explain your problem to them. Those Document reviewers in NVC are used to only one type of document, if your Birth certificate not matches with the one they have it, they will issue checklist. It happened in my case as well with a PCC. Also check with NVC from which authority they expect you to get the birth certificate.

Supervisors might help, but still it will take time. It took 16days for me even thought I called them everyday for an update. This will take maximum 42days.

How many months u r pregnant? Take care of your baby.

You need to mail them a photocopy of the original documents in Arabic. Just the photocopies. You keep the original one and bring it to interview
