The video is gruesome and appalling.

It purportedly shows a Planned Parenthood executive sipping a glass of wine in a Los Angeles restaurant while casually explaining how they sell body parts from aborted babies.

The undercover video was filmed in July 2014 by the Center for Medical Progress, an advocacy group that reports on medical ethics. They dispatched two actors posing as representatives of a human biologics company to a business lunch with Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services

The video shows Nucatola describing in graphic detail how abortionists are able to harvest organs from aborted babies based on the parts that are needed.

“Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs,” she told the undercover buyers. “Some people want lower extremities, too, which, that’s simple. That’s easy. I don’t know what they’re doing with it, I guess if they want muscle.”

To which one of the fake buyer’s replied, “Yeah - a dime a dozen.”

“I’d say a lot of people want liver,” Nucatola said. “And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps.”

She went on to describe how they are able to acquire other organs without “crushing” them.

“We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

Understand this – she is talking about an unborn baby, folks.

Planned Parenthood issued a statement denying they’ve done anything wrong and accused the Center for Medical Progress of releasing a heavily edited video.

“A well funded group established for the purpose of damaging Planned Parenthood’s mission and services has promoted a heavily edited, secretly recorded videotape that falsely portrays Planned Parenthood’s participation in tissue donation programs that support lifesaving scientific research,” said spokesman Eric Ferrero in a prepared statement.

Ferrero went on to acknowledge they help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research and they do so will the full consent from patients “and under the highest ethical and legal standards.”

Planned Parenthood denied they made any money off the sale of aborted baby parts.

“There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood,” Ferrero said. “In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.”

David Daledien, lead the undercover project against Planned Parenthood – a nearly three-year-long investigation on illegal trafficking of aborted fetal parts.

“Planned Parenthood’s criminal conspiracy to make money off of aborted baby parts reaches to the very highest levels of their organization,” he said. “Elected officials must listen to the public outcry for Planned Parenthood to be held accountable to the law and for our tax dollars to stop underwriting this barbaric abortion business.”

The Center for Medical Progress offered a swift refutation to Planned Parenthood’s response – by posting the full and unedited video.

They also posted an advertisement from a major purchaser of aborted fetal tissue that was posted in Planned Parenthood clinics. That advertisement mentions words like “financial profitable,” “financial profits,” “financial benefit to your clinic,” and “fiscal growth of your own clinic.”

Planned Parenthood did not return calls seeking comment on those allegations.

Meanwhile, the outrage over the horrific video has spread like wildfire.

Dr. Russell Moore, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, summed it up in one word – speechless.

“If this does not shock the conscience, what will?” Moore wrote online. ‘It is not only that infants, in their mother’s wombs, are deprived of their lives, but also that their corpses are desecrated for profit.”

Think about that for a moment – desecrated unborn babies for profit.

“This is not only murderous; it is murderous in the most ghoulish way imaginable,” Moore added.

Moore is calling on Congress and the Department of Justice to investigate.

“For years, many of us have called on government leaders to see to it that no taxpayer funds, of any kind, go to Planned Parenthood,” Moore wrote. “Is it not clear that these are not health-care providers but pirates and grave-robbers of those who have no graves?”

La. Gov. Bobby Jindal has already called on the state’s Dept. of Health and Hospitals to conduct an investigation of what he called “this alleged evil and illegal activity.”

GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina posted a Facebook message calling the video tragic and outrageous.

“This isn’t about ‘choice’,” she wrote. “It’s about profiting on the death of the unborn while telling women it’s about empowerment.”

"Beyond disturbing," is what Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) tweeted.

I do not believe my words can match the eloquence of Dr. Moore’s. We ask God to bless America – a nation that turns a blind eye to the slaughter of unborn children – a nation that provides taxpayers to fund an organization that allegedly sells body parts from dead babies.

It is illegal to sell body organs - be they baby, adult, live, dead, or fetus...

The woman gets nothing when these baby "parts" are acquired by other companies.

The mother *is* allowed to donate the fetus tissues if she wants, in which case Planned Parenthood can send them to the Biotech labs. They are allowed to charge a fee for transportation and additional care required. If you watch the video they charge between 30 and 100 dollars. That would seem about right.

America (republicans) needs to figure out what it is they exactly are so appalled at.

Is it abortion entirely? Or is it the right of the mother to consent to donate such a fetus for the purpose of hopefully saving lives. Or is the transportation fee? Is it the language the woman used to describe something which is in it's very nature an unpleasant subject?

If a baby died at childbirth in a hospital, and the mother chose to donate that child's organs, and there is a transport fee involved, would they be just as outraged?

I should think it no different when at the DMV, they ask me if I want to be an organ donor. I'm sure there is a fee in there somewhere for someone to transport such organs in a timely manner in the event of my death.

In either case, whether they be outraged or not the donation of a fetus or it's parts for medical purposes and incurred transportation costs is written into the federal code. Maybe the persons mad about it, should take that up with the law and their senators.

No, Planned Parenthood Isn’t Selling ‘Aborted Baby Parts’

A heavily edited video that claims Planned Parenthood is “selling aborted baby parts” is spurring a new round of controversy over the national women’s health group — leading at least two presidential candidates to call for an investigation into the organization.

The video, which has inspired some prominent conservatives to make direct comparisons between Planned Parenthood and ISIS, is the latest example of a coordinated effort to discredit the abortion provider by making inflammatory accusations about its services that are taken out of context.

In the video, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, is explaining how her organization handles tissue donation from aborted fetuses.

Although Nucatola thought she was speaking to buyers from a biological company, she was actually meeting with actors working for an organization called the Center for Medical Progress — which describes itself as a “group of citizen journalists dedicated to monitoring and reporting on medical ethics and advances” and has close ties to an infamous anti-abortion organization that works to discredit Planned Parenthood. Nucatola was unaware that she was being filmed.

The Center for Medical Progress says it has been investigating Planned Parenthood for nearly three years. David Daleiden, the media contact for the new investigative video project, used to work for Live Action News, the anti-choice group founded by Lila Rose that has pioneered sting operations at Planned Parenthood clinics for years. Live Action is notorious for releasing edited videos to mislead viewers about what Planned Parenthood employees are saying.

One of Live Action’s particular specialties is splicing together footage in a way that highlights abortion’s gory medical details. Of course, as with any other medical procedure, listening to doctors talk frankly about abortion can be gross. This is exactly what’s going on in the Center for Medical Progress’ new video; writing in Cosmopolitan, reporter Robin Marty described the video as “upsetting” and “off-putting,” particularly when Nucatola talks about the “menu” of fetal tissue and organs that patients may choose to donate.

Regardless of the potentially upsetting medical language, however, the Center for Medical Progress’ larger “findings” don’t hold up. Though the new investigation claims Planned Parenthood is profiting off the sale of fetal remains, Nucatola repeatedly emphasizes “tissue donation” and pushes back on the idea that her organization is selling anything. In the longer version of the raw video footage — which includes more than 150 additional minutes that didn’t make it into the final nine-minute version — there’s one instance when she says quite directly, “Nobody should be ‘selling’ tissue. That’s just not the goal here.”

On Tuesday, the Center for Medical Progress also published other documents that purportedly back up its claims, including a Planned Parenthood consent form for tissue donation. That formexplains that “research using the blood from pregnant women and the tissue that has been aborted has been used to treat and find a cure for such diseases as diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and AIDS” — and makes it very clear that donation is optional.

Abortion opponents have long been wary of medical advances that rely on using material from fertilized eggs and fetuses. That’s what spurs the debate over embryonic stem cell research, which used to be a much bigger culture war issue before the discovery of alternative stem cell options. Nonetheless, no matter how squeamish Americans may feel by the idea of donating aborted fetuses, this type of fetal tissue donation and research is legal, and has been for decades.

Eric Ferrero, the vice president of communications for Planned Parenthood, has dismissed the new video as a misleading portrayal of human tissue donation from activists who hope to smear Planned Parenthood’s reputation.

“Patients sometimes want to donate tissue to scientific research that can help lead to medical breakthroughs, such as treatments and cures for serious diseases. Women at Planned Parenthood who have abortions are no different,” Ferrero said in a statement. “There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood. In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.”

That hasn’t stopped GOP presidential candidates from demanding action. On Tuesday, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry ® called the video “disturbing” and claimed Planned Parenthood has a “penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life.” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) called for Congress to launch an investigation into “Planned Parenthood’s activities regarding the sale and transfer of aborted body parts.” Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal ®, meanwhile, immediately launched a state-level investigation into the women’s health organization, which will prevent a new Planned Parenthood clinic from being able to open in New Orleans. Jindal has been working to block the construction of that facility for the past year.

The political response is reminiscent of the way that lawmakers handled the controversy over Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an illegal abortion provider who was arrested for preying on low-income women in his unsanitary clinic in Philadelphia. After horrifying details emerged about how Gosnell broke the law, Live Action released a misleading “investigation” claiming that legal abortion providers across the country were guilty of similar crimes. GOP lawmakers obliged by initiating an investigation into abortion clinics — which came up totally empty, finding evidence only that clinics are already highly regulated and quite safe.
