Please help me out. My friend told me that when I have applied for my spouse under F2A, somewhere the NVC will need me to send them tax return docs for 3 years. I came to US late in 2013 and so far I have only one tax form fr 2014 because 2013 I was not working. from what I see, If NVC asks for those docs by 2016 I will only have 2, for 2014 and 2015. IS that enough? Anybody in the same case please help

@hardik - Hopefully there are a few more people with more recent experience. In my case, When I was on an F4 journey, the PCC took about 45 days for me. But this is also probably because they had to send my passport from the US to India and then back to the US for collection at the embassy. I'm not sure what the timeline is from within India.

Dear Munafa,

our case was approved 2nd of july but still NVC haven't receive it. should i wait or call them? i need your idea please as you guys are a head of me.

I was on same situation as you. I got my green card on November 2013. For 2013 I filled taxes and declared my foreign income I had on 2013. When I sent to NVC I sent only 2013 and 2014 and I wrote a letter explaining the situation why I only filled 2 years and not 3. Now my case is complete so I won;t have any issue you just need to write a paper explaining that.

Hi - Yes, you should definitely call them and request to see what happened. The cases normally are reaching within 2 to 3 weeks. I have a feeling it should be there by end of this week. Keep calling everyday. My suggestion is to call around noon US time as it would be enough time for their systems to update for the day. Good luck and keep us posted.

As always I'd recommend consulting with a good lawyer, but from my experience, an Indian PCC should be good for 12 monhts. The key point is making sure that the PCC is submitted within 3 months of being issued to the NVC. Once it's with them, I believe you should be alright. Ofcourse I'll let some other folks chime in with their personal experience.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I believe if there is no way to get a birth record from the municipal authorities, then you should try and get an Non-availability of birth certificate through your local indian consulate/embassy. Look into that as an option. That might be the route to go. Before that though, I would highly recommend calling NVC and trying to speak with another rep. Every rep is different and depending on the time you call, the level of expertise is different as well.

Hi, thanks a lot for the response.

First call I made to NVC around 3PM and the lady said they are asking about the Birth Certificate from the Municipal office and I clearly explained to her stating that people who live in cities can only get the birth certificate from the Municipal office but whereas my wife was born in Village so the Mandal Revenue Office will be giving the birth certificate and I told that’s all I have and she mentioned me that just send the NVC whatever you have.

Second call I made again around 5PM and there is another lady asked me wait for some time and after 5 min she came back again and said that you don’t have to worry your DS-260 is pending for review just wait for that and once that’s done then you are good to go and I said when I called this afternoon someone said that I need to send the Birth Certificate and she said if you have one send the copy that will add an extra copy to the case.

Third call when I called this morning the lady said yes they are looking for the Birth Certificate and also she mentioned me that yesterday one of the representative escalated your case to the supervisor and asked me to wait for 42 days.

I never got an email or Mail from NVC that they are requesting the birth certificate and don’t know how long does it take to get an email if they have a check list for me.

I am thinking to wait for a while to get the check list email from NVC and send the Birth Certificate Affidavit of support from both the parents and a relative and my wife has a school conduct certificate where she went for schooling in that village.

Any Ideas please advise me.
