My step son had his interview a month ago, needed one more document which was provided a few days later. Was tol everything wa sin order and that the visa would be sent out . So far we have been told that the system has been down since then. Called the National Visa Center and some not too friendly person who answered told me that it was down indefinitley with no timetable of when it would be back. Said it was not necessarily related to computer system problems. I find something really troubling about this. You mean to tell me with all the high quality IT people they employ, that 3 weeks later they still can't get the system back online? Any political agendas that might at play maybe? Problem with us is my step son will turn 21 in August. He had decided to stay and finish the school year and come. Not sure now since the embassy approved his visa, if he's already good to go, or if this delay last months if they thne will say he turned 21, sorry.

Awesome, this is great info and thank you for sharing. Can I ask where you got the specific consulate details from?

EDIT: Take no notice of my stupidity. Do not even bother answering my question. I'm an idiot.

To be honest, I think after waiting this long, I'm not too fussed about the delay. What's a few more days? Really, nothing, especially as i'm not leaving in the very short term.

It is annoying to be stuck in this AP limbo - hopefully they're aware of my passport sitting there asking to have its Visa put in it... :)

It doesn't appear to be a software issue, but a hardware issue. I read in Huffington Post they had a redundant system, and that went down too. I keep looking every day.. Our K-1 our interview was June 5th, so we are all about on the same time frame...

Well, i've just received the greatest news ever. "Your application has been approved for issuance" YESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, while the system has been down, the validity on our I-129F has EXPIRED. The Sydney Consulate has asked that my fiancee write a letter to extend the validity period which I can email to the consulate. So another little bump to get over before, finally, receiving my visa!

There is no update on when Sydney is expected online.

This is wonderful mate as any good news is great! Now all we need is those systems I be working again so as your passport doesn't get sad and get offended that they have been delaying putting that visa in him.
