Here is how the rules work in Texas. I live in the suburbs and have a house in a HOA area, I also have 40 acres in Aubrey Texas that is hunting land for ducks and some pigs and deer and coons.

If I have a animal enter my 40 acres I can shoot him at my discretion - Pig, coyote, dog, cat, praire dog, skunk . If they are a animal like deer or duck/goose where we have hunting season we can only kill outside of season if they are being a nuisance and eating crops. If I had farm animals then I of course you can shoot anything that can cause or is trying to injury to them.

My house is in a different city limits and if I have to shot a dog or cat to protect myself or animal then I will have to say I was protecting myself/property and not allowed to shoot a discharge a firearms within city limit. In my city if you have a more than 5 acres then you can hunt or shoot inside city limit.

Me I don't shoot strays or coyotes, etc. I do enjoy some duck hunting and dove hunting, I rather feed a deer than eat a deer. Now of days I am more into Bass Fishing..

Arrow to the head is not cruel or inhumane. It is probably one of the most humane way to eliminate a animal

They wouldn't be investigating her or charging her if she didn't do something wrong. If the charge is animal cruelty, she could also have her license suspended. Even if not, her options are limited.

You seem sure of that. I don't have personal experience with Texas law, just what I read so I have to give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. Then again, the vet seemed pretty sure of herself too. Probably not so much now.

If she cannot practice as a vet then she could go back to school and become a doctor. I had a fellow that operated on me a few times that did that. He was qualified to operate on people and animals .

If she decided to be a doctor she could do abortions all day liberals would not have any qualms over that . .

I doubt the vet will be charged with anything. Her life is not ruined and she will get another job. In fact I believe this will allow her to get better job offers. I would not be surprised if she has has offers already.

It's a high profile case. People crashed the website where she worked. They took down the sheriffs dispatch with calls. She got fired in 3 hours. It's not going to get swept under the rug.

Vets kill anywhere between 3-6 million cats and dogs a year. This is what they are best at.

I would hire her only after looking at her history and speaking with her. (if I needed someone and if I was in that position)

He had a degree from penn state vet college and tried to get a license in another state . That state would not grant him a license at the time. They were only handing out a license to folks that went through their state vet college. He went back and took up human medicine and got his degree to practice . He turned 62 or 65 the year he operated on me and was forced to retire from the operating room .(because of age) He mentioned today that would not happen .... him being denied just because he attended school in another state. Years ago a different story .. Very protective back then .
