Help got an RFE dont understand

Today we received an RFE in the mail it states you filed a benefits request that is not properly completed. I am assuming I missed a check box but I am worried they might be wanting something else. The RFE is not very detailed. Has any one experienced anything similar or have any advice.

What exactly does the text say, verbatim? Don't paraphrase, don't give snippets, and don't give identifiers like names or case numbers.

The letter states the following

" You filed a benefit request which was not properly completed. Please complete the marked sections on the enclosed photocopy of the benefits request"

I am sure it is a simple fix but its just overwhelming because I still don't understand what needs to be fixed.

Calm yourself, read accurately, interpret literally, and answer completely and honestly. (This will be the key to your success throughout a do-it-yourself immigration process.)

After doing the above, see the photocopy that they enclosed, and complete the marked sections.

Don't sweat it too much, or at all. Just take things a step at a time. USCIS tends to process RFE replies rather promptly. Be sure you're right, then go ahead.*

Maybe get some sleep tonight and attack things freshly in the morning.

Please fill out the timeline, and be more specific as to all the forms you submitted.

Also, check over all the documents that you submitted and double and triple

verify if all the required fields are completed accurately.

Did you by any chance submitted "Form I-912, Request for Fee Waiver"?

When I google your RFE message, above form comes up as one of the first search results.

Agree, I don't know of any "benefits request" form or language in the K-1 process.

This just means you left an area blank...did it come with the part of the benefits packet that was left incomplete? We got an RFE too part of it was that I had a question unanswered. If it's not in the RFE print the benefits part and fill it out completely and double check it. You should also call and speak to a tier 2 agent about it. Hope this helps and when you send it in make sure to get certified mail. Best of Luck!!

I went to the local immigration office today and sought out an attorneys opinion. I guess the second page clarified what question they wanted answered. They just wanted clarification on if I used an attorney or not. It was poorly detailed. Is that how most rfe look like? I wad worried I needed to redo the whole packet for a while.

Don't think of it as a set back. Think of it as good news since it means your petition was being processed and not lost in the corner of the wrong office.

Oh ok if you went to an immigration lawyer I'm sure they can assist you much better than we can lol but from what I understand about RFEs they are all the same generic information about them wanting additional evidence from us then lower on the first page it will tell you specifically what they want from you. I think it was in bold for us....even though you spoke to a lawyer I would still talk to a tier 2 agent before sending it in and read it to them so they can make sure your sending the right stuff in. 2 out of 3 I spoke to were very helpful with putting together my RFE...Anyways yea so do read the letter again careful it should say exactly what was missing or insufficient , do what ever the lawyer told you to do, then speak to a tier 2 agent...maybe even go back to the lawyer to review it. But definitely do get it in ASAP so you don't have to wait much longer....best of luck bhjameson15
