When using a passport as your proof of US citizenship for the I-129F can I take a photo of of the pages on my camera and print them out off my printer...or do I have to scan them with the copier and print them...because photos would be clearer but would they count that? I am also putting my US birth certificate in with it but it is missing the day of my father's date of birth, so just in case I am putting both my birth certificate and all pages of my US passport. I guess my question in simpler words would be can I use photos I print of my computer or just scan the pages...please help!! Thank you!! xxx

I scanned our documents using a flat-bed scanner, saved them as .pdf files, and printed them out on a color laser printer as necessary, with excellent results.

Do you have a copier at work? Better yet, buy a printer/scanner/copier because you will use the heck out of the copier function before you are through with immigration...petition, adjustment of status, removing conditions, citizenship.

Many around $60 at BestBuy.

I will think you could as the instructions does not say the copies has to be copy a certain way. Only that the copies be legible and that all pages of the passport be copy.

I can understand your concern about your birth certificate. it might not be a problem. However It is good to send copy of passport anyway, If you are worry about the way you should do the copies ,you should scan them and copy them that way. This process is too long to be worrying about little things, so if it makes less worries for you I will do it that way

I'm sorry, one more question...I feel bad making another post haha would be 3rd one today. I was wondering if chat logs like from facebook and skype have to be in color or if I can just make them black and white...I know it's a small detail but I just want everything to be perfect...(: also I think I'm just going to go to office depot haha I have a copier but it needs to be fixed haha so I'm in a bit a predicament lol Thanks for all the help guys!! xxx

Once you take the photos, can you save them to your computer and edit them to clean PDF copy? I don't see why that is any different than a scan once it is tidied up and present in 8.5x11 format.

My chatlogs are also b/w. However, I do make notes on each page to clearly note the timeframe of the chat portion. It is highly recommended that you make it as easy as possible for the reviewer reviewing your case to follow what you submitted.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but chat logs are really not necessary for a UK/US relationship. They may wonder how people with different native languages communicate, but since your native languages are English it's kinda unnecessary filler to me. Concentrate on the actual requirements.

Alright, thank you everyone, I was mainly wanting to print them so I could send them to my fiance for his interview, but I did want to include a couple in the petition.

Your fiancé will not need chat logs at his interview in London. They do not want relationship things. Really. All he needs from you is the Affidavit of Support and a proof of income. Employer letter seems to be their favorite because when people show up with tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements and such, they pick out the employer letter and hand back the rest so the interviewer never even sees the others.
