My case was approved on 1/14; I received the NOA2 on the 01/21. Called NVC no record of our case yet.... Feeling some kind of way...Then today I tried to wish my husband and sister in law a Happy New Month on BBM, somehow me and my husband's bbm messages were merged into the group chat and I hit end chat and everything was delete... What's crazy is my chats with his sister are still there all of them, but on his end and mine there all gone...I have other logs but dang...I'm still trying to wrap my mine around what happen.. the crazy thing is it started a whole new chat with my husband. ..I so hate BBM... anyway it's snowing in Chicago and I am still blessed...Enjoy your week everyone. ...

Congratulations on you being approved and off to NVC it will take a while to get your Case number and Invoice Identification Number, I've seen people waiting 40 days plus for it so try to relax go to Saylin's thread I have the link on the first page here very first post. Read it and read it again start getting your AOS and IV forms filled out as in documentation, taxes etc so when you do get your number your ready to go. If you need a co-sponsor you don't have to wait to find one at the last second. So you have a lot to do during this time :) time will fly by. t5063.gif

Thanks, I'm ready to go. All my ducks are in a row. Thanks to dwheel and another friend here. So I'm just reading post waiting and waiting ... Thanks for the words of encouragement. ..

Not a rant but just a question (kind of). From scanning dwheel's spread sheet I see most persons get an interview date around 60 days (give or take) from cc, but I see quite a few folks still waiting for interview dates from December.

Does this vary only by embassy? Or does visa category have something to do with it?

I am putting my money on a late March interview for me. Am I wrong to assume this? My cc was on 22nd January.

Also, are interview dates usually given more than one month in advance?

Yes it's all Country/Embassy specific so the real busy Embassies will take longer for people to get their Interviews. Egypt used to take minimum 6 to 9 months just to get an interview, now it's back to normal. So it does usually take 1 to 2 months and they are scheduled twice a month.

Not sure if I've seen you here before but if not, graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread. :)

thanks! I'm in a different category so I don't post much here, but I look on. My case recently completed so I'm waiting on an interview date.

6 to 9 months? That must have felt like an eternity! I would have went mad Between that and the 60 day wait at the embassy.

I have to wait til the 16th to see if I got an interview and I'm already getting anxious.

good luck to everyone waiting.

Your welcome and I was lucky for the first time in ages and didn't wait that long just the normal time like everyone else. Seems they stopped or sent most of the other catagories of Visas to Alexandria thank GOD! My case was a mess from the time I sent our I-130 so that was a blessing and now the interview at the worst Embassy in the WORLD. God willing with his grace and mercy he will give us another and final break. :Dsmileys-praying-931534.gif t0803.gif pope-smiley-emoticon.gif

Day 62--absolutely nothing from NVC. No emails, no updates when I call-NOTHING. They received the checklist documents on December 2nd via the email they confirmed. They cherry on top is that their phone lines say that they're "closed" today. Some people are apparently getting through...after 8 phone calls.... I'm still not one of them. :/

I have lost complete faith that anything will ever happen at this point. I think I'd win the lottery sooner than get an approval and appointment date from NVC. They just don't care.

Keep trying!best time to call is at exactly 7 am eastern standard time.

I know there is a snow storm in that part of the US today so maybe they are (even more) understaffed if they are open.

I agree they don't care so we have to do all the work. Keep calling they will answer you eventually and if not I would ask to speak to a supervisor but on Tuesday they have meetings on Monday and unless you call at 7am Monday then you just might get lucky. But never give up. :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!

Also, just a heads up-someone mentioned that after early November 2014, NVC no longer requires originals of civil documents and that copies will be accepted--this was NOT the case for me. They required ALL originals from us, which was incredibly difficult given that my wife lives in Iraq. It makes no sense why she has to send her papers across the ocean to NH only to have NH send them allll the way back to the embassy when the interview date is set. She could just bring them with her...duh. But then again, this is NVC. They think make us listen to them talk to us in Spanish after hitting "english" is an improvement, smh.

It has now been 98 days since my husband's interview, and we are still in AP. No reason given and the last time we heard from the embassy was Christmas Eve. All that they said was that AP usually takes 2 to 4 months (which is much longer than what they told us at the interview and longer than the estimate given on the embassy website). I just wish this part of the process was even a little bit more transparent. It's absolutely killing me to just sit here and wait and not have any control over this.

I contacted both of my Senators and my rep in Congress. Hopefully somebody can get something done, but I have pretty low expectations. I just feel so defeated and helpless.

So they gave you a checklist for sending photocopies? Did you complain to a supervisor?

I sent photocopies because that's what they said on their website.
