Hi Guys,

My interview is 6/4 and I have purchased a ticket to travel out of the country on 6/26. I am now wondering if there will be a problem. I doubt my Oath Ceremony will be before then but would it be an issue to travel with a Green Card if you already had a citizenship interview ? Any help or if any one can see I would potentially have a problem please let me know. Thank you!

They can schedule you for Oath ceremony anytime after your interview. I suggest you check the Oath ceremony in your state. They have that posted online.

1/25/2017 - Received text and email notification that case was accepted and routed to Texas Service Center

Thanks for the response. I have not been able to find a schedule Washington DC/Alexandria VA. I may have to ask them to give me an early date for the Oath Ceremony in order to get a passport or to wait until after the trip.

I am wondering also if there is an issue traveling with your green card until the Oath Ceremony or do they take it when you go for the interview?

1st June 09 - Interview at 9am, Medical at 2:50pm
15th June 09 - K1 Visa approved and received
23rd June 09 - Point of Entry (Atlanta, Georgia)

You should be fine to travel on your GC after your interview! Be sure to look out for the Oath ceremony Notice! Enjoy your trip :)

I'd move travel date to that after oath ceremony or received US passport to avoid unexpected phenomenon if I were you

No problem traveling on your green card after you complete your interview. The real problem is that there's a good chance that you might end up missing your ceremony. There's not much chance that they're going to accommodate your request to move up your oath date unless there's a serious emergency. If there's a conflict, you're either going to have to reschedule your oath or reschedule your travel. Edited by JimmyHou

I'm starting to get worried about my case. I sent my application on 2/8/15, had fingerprints done on 3/9/15 and wasn't put inline until 3/26/15. I still haven't received an interview notice nor has my online status change since March 26th. Another member on here, who's case is being handled by the same office as me (Norfolk, VA), filed later than I did and he's already set for an interview. How much longer should I wait before contacting USCIS?

if you are referring to LosSalvatore, i think the member belongs to DC field office not Norfolk

day 1 -- 04/11/2012-- package sent to Chicago

day 2 -- 04/12/2012-- package was received.

day 43-- 05/23/2012-- Notice for an interview is received for 06/26 @ 2pm

day 63-- 06/12/2012-- Received a Text & email for an update- Card production EAD/AP

day 77-- 06/26/2012-- interview / approved on the spot.

day 86-- 07/05/2012-- Received my GC in the mail.

ROC

day 1 -- 04/07/2014 -- ROC Package delivered to VSC

day 16 -- 04/23/2014 -- Walk-in Bio.

day 197 -- 10/20/2014-- Approval Letter received dated 10/16/2014

day 202 -- 10/25/2014-- GC received
