I suggest if Daniel sees the guard about to open the envelope just say that he heard from the embassy that the envelope needs to be unopened for the further processing in the holding room. These guards never like being told what to and not to do. In any case, if the guard still opens it then tell Daniel to remember the booth number that he was first seen too so he can relay which guard it was. They have CCTV so I'm sure they can check it was opened by the guard and not Daniel.

It's a really awkward sized envelop, tell him to keep the plastic bag from the courier around the envelope to protect it better, especially as he'll have no choice from storing it in the luggage bin above his head (unless he's flying business with more room!). I just laid it on top of all the bags and made sure I had an aisle seat to get up first to get it before anyone else pulled their bags down when we landed.

No just the number, two weeks to get the card. They have given me the number, thought I try and get a cell phone plan from AT&T but they can't find my SS number in the system yet. Guess I have to wait a little longer.

Ps. Gosh it's hot!!! Daniel should pack some shorts in hand luggage change into on the plane before landing!

Hey Rob. Welcome to Houston. I was wondering when you were going to comment on the triple digit heat. Miserable. Right now it says the temp is 103 and the "feels like" temp is 110F (43C). A giant thunderstorm would be nice about now.

April-- he doesn't have to hand over the envelope. He can say I am entering on a K1 visa and see if they direct him to secondary room without touching his envelope. That's the usual IAH procedure. Maybe the guy was new. Didn't happen to us.

You know when you leave the immigration desks and head to the escalators down to baggage claim? There is a room on the right before going down for processing visas. And maybe a shorter wait for Daniel. Seems like summer afternoons are generally way more crowded because of all the extra planes come if in from Mexican and Caribbean resorts.

How long does it typically take to see an update on the CEAC?? My fiance had his interview last Thursday, but it still only says "Ready" when I put in our LDN#. I know the "London K1 complete guide" says 1-2 business days, but it's definitely been longer than that by now...are there more delays with printing that anyone knows of? I'm anxious lol

The times vary. There is a thread showing how long from Interview to visa in hand and you will see the differences.

When I put my case number into CEAC it comes up as "Your search did not return any data." Does this mean that it hasn't been updated yet? Nothing is showing... the woman from the NVC also gave me an invoice number.

Make sure the following things: that you're putting in the right number (hey it happens)

Make sure you're selecting immigrant instead of non immigrant

..And finally your CEAC will not update with READY until the embassy has it and is ready for you to begin.

Did the person at the NVC confirm they have sent it out yet?

Number is in correct. Selected "immigrant" ... still no data...

I assume that since my case was inputted into the system this afternoon (as they told me) it maybe didn't register yet?

I didn't ask if they sent it out. When I called yesterday they said it just arrived on Monday and wasn't even in the system. Then the lady told me tonight it was inputted this afternoon.

Right, all normal then. Have to wait until the actual embassy has the case and everything. That took six business days for us, but that will all depend on when NVC sends it out.
