Reliability of VJ Timeline estimates

So, I got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday, and added that to my timeline. I realize TSC is crazy slow, so I was wondering how accurate this estimate that VJ gave me is? I realize this isn't the estimate for my fiancée to be here, but rather for the petition to be approved.

Based on others' experiences, how accurate was your timline data estimate? Mine is as follows:

I got my NOA1 notice on 1/27/15 (yesterday)

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between July 24, 2015 and September 4, 2015.

Lets say that it gets approved on September 4...how long should I expect to wait for her to have the visa in hand? Again, I'm asking based on personal experiences from everyone.

^{I can only speak on CSC...but the wait for me was only off by about 3 days on approval projected. So it was very accurate to me.}

That seems fairly accurate for the current TSC processing. At the moment they seem to be issuing NOA2s for June filers, so are taking about seven months from NOA1s.

You can't go by those at all. Think of it more like something to entertain you everyday when you get on VJ before you actually get down to business & do whatever it is you normally do on here everyday.

Edit: I say that because that timeline is based on VJ users actually completing their Timelines correctly, which many don't. Especially those who say they were transferred from TSC to CSC just because they don't know that the TX Lockbox is not TSC. That skews data for everyone. And sadly, many make that mistake.

Sounds accurate to me. The timeline estimate is good at giving you a ballpark figure, although you shouldn't get your hopes up at all for that late July date. The September 4th one sounds much more realistic. My NOA2 was a little later than the estimate (but only by a few days).

That seems reasonable. Do plan for delays though. With this process, you never know.

I myself filed in December (late) - and I am planing for a relocation in December this year - so allowing almost a year for the process. And hoping that's enough.

It depends on the embassy. You might want to look up Spain timelines to see how long it was between the embassy receiving the petition and the interview date. Up until that point, a relatively conservative estimate for timing is:

TSC---->NVC: 2-3 weeks

NVC----> Embassy 7-10 days

It's only as accurate as the data that feeds it.

The issue I find is with people not filling out their timelines correctly. That most certainly affects the reliability of reported processing times. What you also have to remember is that a lot of people on the forum have problematic cases (possibly one of the reasons that they join in the first place) that again probably inflate the reported processing times.
