It does not show on their website that they are close this time. Last time it stated they was close because of weather. I check the website before I call. Then had to listen to their recordings just to be told that they are close. I might try again later today, maybe they are just going to open later. Just another convenient excuse for them.

Searching weather for portsmouth, NH shows a winter storm warning in effect. Could that be the reason? Plz someone post if they open later...

I have been calling the whole morning to NVC and they say it's closed , this is crazy. It's already difficult contact them now they're closed everyday.

This is sooooo frustrating.....I have an approved expedite for a dying family member on hospice with only days left.

Why the hell can't they forward expedited cases to somewhere warm to work on them....expedite has been approved since the beginning of January. But, NVC didn't enter case until Jan 27th and it still hasn't been matched up to the expedite approval.

I called the Dept of State in DC. they said they were informed the NVC office will be closed all day. I was transferred to someone higher up the food chain, who was helpful in explaining that there was nothing she could do. However, she did inform me that filing a complaint at oig.state.gov/hotline is one way to insure complaints are taken seriously.

1. I am filing for the new phone system not informing caller they are closed right off the bat
2. Forced to listen to eng/spn even after selecting english and not being able to key ahead
3. Lack of working somewhere not effected by weather
4. not planning for expected problems (i.e. transferring priority cases when problems arise).

Maybe if enough of us filing a complaint or bombard the State Dept in DC with enough questions NVC will update their phone messages... (202) 647-4000

You have not been waiting that long. It has only been 24 days for you. I have been waiting since Dec 23rd tomorrow will be 42 days for me. I know there are members on here that have even been waiting longer then me.
