Is this normal?! Fast NOA1-NOA2

We received our NOA1 on November 17, 2014.
We received our NOA2 approval notice today, December 9, 2014.

That is 22 days from NOA1 to Approved. Is that normal? Am i overreacting, or was that supposed to take up to 4-5 months?

Any info would help.

Do you want it to go back to USCIS and take 4 to 5 months. You got approved. Thank you lucky stars. It happens now and then. Congratulations. No its not normal.

Some are faster than others. Ours came in 37 days and ours was through DCF, haha. Congrats, though!

Thanks! I was just really under the impression that it would take 4-5 months for it to get approved. We're stoked! But just kind of confused at the same time!

Well like dwheels said, it's not "normal", but it's no reason to panic thinking it's a mistake. Go out with friends and celebrate!

Instructions for required documents presented at the interview

As soon as you have scheduled your appointment and printed the Appointment Confirmation Sheet, you must visit the Consulate designated panel physician with this Appointment Confirmation Sheet, the Instruction Package Letter (PKT3) you received from the Consulate which includes the case number, the passport, the 2 standard visa photos, and the fee for the medical exam processing. Please follow the 2 steps below.

1. Medical exam: Visit the Panel Physician before going to the Quarantine Service of HCMC for vaccination. Results are complete in approximately 2 days. The fee for each applicant older than 15 years is US$140 and for each applicant 15 years and under is US$110. Cho Ray hospital accepts fees in Vietnam Dong only. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) accepts fees in Vietnam Dong or US dollars. Below are the addresses of our Panel Physicians:

Please note that the examining physician will discuss the medical results with you and any follow-up treatment required. You must perform any follow up your treatment at the Panel Physician’s office.

2. Vaccination: After having completed the medical examination, applicants are required to receive vaccinations. Fees for vaccinations depend on your age and the required vaccinations. Bring all of your vaccination records with you to the Quarantine Service of HCMC at 40 Nguyen Van Troi Street, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC, Tel: (84-8) 3844-5306 to receive your vaccinations.

Prior to the interview, you should prepare the following documents (copy and original). Please refer to the Instruction Package that you received from the Consulate for more detailed instructions. Your welcome. Start Calling NVC about 2 weeks after NOA2 approved and get your HCM# . You will need that case # from now on to VN Embassy and wait for packet 3 to be sent to your fiancee. Here is the NVC phone number 603-334-0700. Get your I134 docs ready and do the DS 160 form. Here is the link for packet 3 instruction which you and her will have to start gathering docs.

Your I130 will be different from my K1 visa some of it will be similar make sure your check first. Dont wanna have you be confused.

Since no one really answered the question, yes - this is normal if the US citizen lives abroad with the petitioner. I bet this is the case for you? Those petitions have been getting automatically expedited since April or so, maybe before.

For Vietnam no it is not normal processing time, as I do not believe they are expediting from that country. Congrats on your fast approval

Thats awesome, congrats! Ours took 29 days,104 days total. Great to hear that the process is still moving along quickly.
