Anyone here ever do an immigration visa (CR1), get the approval at the embassy, been told you had only a week to wait for the passport to return with the visa, but then went to check on the status and it said "administrative processing"? Does anyone know if this is normal? My husband needed to have a random police check (even though he already had a secret police checklike FBI-, and the regular police one was not on the embassy website until after we went-they even apologized to us) that we didn't know about, so we sent it by aramax the next day, apparantly it just arrived Sunday night around 7pm. So just curious if anyone has had experience with this! We fly on December 17th early in the morning, so I'm a bit nervous! No one told us not to get the tickets, they just said the visa would only take a week! The status was even updated today with "Administrative processing" and I really don't understand why. Is this normal? Does everyone who gets approved sill have this status for a bit on the ceac.state.gov website?

Thanks for any help!

Others on here have experienced the same thing. I think it's one reason they tell you to wait a full week before contacting them with any questions. Lots of people have reported going from Ready to AP to Issued with the AP varying on how long it takes. But, if they still told you it should be no longer than a week then I'd just chill and wait it out as patiently as possible. Good news is that it's not necessarily abnormal what you're going through.

Op is going through Jordan.

However Jordan does seem quicker than most in the area.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
