Hello guys, how are you doing, congratulations all applicants recently got CC or interview approval.

I have my interview appointment scheduled for 21 January 2015.

I just started reading some experienced of Port of Entry and I got little bit confused. And i have several questions about it and any respond will be greatly appreciated.

1. I am going to have POE with my Petitioner/Wife in Chicago, IL (connection flight finally i will be landed in Dallas, TX), some certain people say i have to take tourist line and some say i need line for USC or Permanent residents. I will be with my wife and does it means we have to go from different lines or it will be exceptional and they will allow us use USC/Permanent resident line.

2. How long does it take after showing them your CR1 visa envelope to stamp in passport? I meant including interview and all whatever it will be necessary to deal with immigration.

Thanks

You have to go in the Immigrant line not the USC line. And times vary. Depends how many people are there how many flights have landed. Coming through Chicago who knows. It can go from 100 people to thousands in a minutes time. From 1 hr wait to hours.. They always say leave yourself a 2 to 4 hour buffer.

First he needs to go to the USCIS.gov and change the address online. DS-260 and I-864 can be changed at interview. I-864 will have to be resubmitted with original so he will have to send that to you.

But most important is changing address online then of course when you pay the Visa fee(green card production fee) after interview. you make sure the new address is there.

Keeping fingers crossed,i really pray that i get sqweezed into feb. smhw . But from askvisaconsular officer in nairaland---she mentioned smwhr that although they are done for january scheduling bt they are willing to take in more if nvc ask that of them else its feb or march. Well,i can only trust God for favour

So please, aside gathering supporting documents, the medicals should come after p4 is recieved right? Before i could go for medicals or how does it work? Meanwhile,i hv to renew my passport cos it expires by july 2015,

Meanwhile,my husband switched jobs n changed address, how does it affect the process

Does anyone know how long it takes for nvc to schedule interview once case complete? My case was completed on 12/23

Congratulations. Welcome to the group. I have added you to the spreadsheet.

For your embassy it has been weird. No one has heard anything for December. There is only a set time each month scheduling for the next month of interviews takes place. So hopefully you made the queue and will be scheduled.

February scheduling should start 1st week in January. So stay tuned January 5th.

It does make me wonder about the scheduling when I read that if they send slots a few months ahead. because that was November when that was asked and I have many friends that was left out of January they were after that 11/12 CC. So just wonder.

Anyway yes for Lagos you have to have P4 letter to get medical.

Change of job means he needs a new updated I-864. EVERYTHING from W2, Most recent Paystub. He needs to go to uscis.gov and update his address.

And get that passport NOW.

Thanks for the reply. When they send the P4 letter, will there be enough time for getting the medical done and will the embassy receive the results before the interview?

Once your interview is schedule. They will send you in email. And yes there will be enough time for Medical
