Hooray!! We finally got our NOA 2 today! It was a long 7+ months, with no RFEs. Now onto the frustrating NVC stage, but at least things are moving in a more progressive motion now. Does anybody have any insight into how long the NVC stage is moving these days? Last I heard they were backed up to 60 days - has that changed at all? (fingers crossed)

Congrats!!!!! Depending on how proactive you are, NVC stage will be much easier compared to this 7 months ordeal.

Best wishes and start getting all your papers ready. What I meant by that is when you are paying bills for AOS or IV make sure your package with necessary papers are ready for mailing. Mail them the next day :-)

Hi and Congrats on your approval! NVC has gone through some recent changes so be sure to read up on country specific requirements. One big change is that you no longer have to send them originals of your IV documents...you just bring them with you to your interview. Progress through NVC seems dependent on your case. By that I mean whether you are sent a checklist to send them more info, or missing info.

If you are careful and manage to submit everything required without a checklist, they are averaging a 60 day wait, but like I said, it varies. The new process of sending everything in one package seems to be their effort to streamline the process to make it a little faster. I for one am hoping it works.

Once all fees and docs are submitted we are still holding at 60 days.

Thanks everyone and really appreciate the info. That's great news about not sending the originals in to NVC now, hopefully this will speed up the process and maybe we won't have to wait the full 60 days, but I'm not getting my hopes up! LOL

Congrats on your NAO2!!! There appears to be timing issues currently all along the way at the NVC. 1st they have to receive the NA02 from USCIS (and then actually find it) to issue a case and invoice number which can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. Then there are several steps in between that take time such as invoicing and their recognition of fee payments and form submissions, each of which take time to occur. Once all that is done and they receive your document package the 60 day clock supposedly begins. If there is an RFE involved it will take longer, apparently even possibly another 60 days after they receive the RFE response. While there are always exceptions it appears many folks are waiting upwards of 5 months (without RFE's) for their interview from the time of receiving the NAO2. This is much different than in many cases prior to about July where it would quite often take about 45 days to get through the NVC. Hopefully things will improve before they get worse. The best thing to do is just know you are better than half way through the process, pay the fees as soon as the billing is available, and get all your docs together to fill out the forms and send in when they allow you to.

Called NVC last night and they said anyone that receives an RFE or ie. checklist prior to the new procedure of submittance will not be bound to an additional 60 days. They will just be required to take those docs to the Embassy. Let's see this practically now. Note: this does not include the AOS which originals will still go to the NVC along with any check list.

Called NVC today and the rep told me that nothing has changed accept originals can go to Embassy. They will also still take originals and it is still 60 days from the day you submit both AOS and IV combined. As for the check list for any docs. its still 60 days from the corrections that you send back. So my question is...how is this suppose to speed things up and decrease wait times as stated on the bulletin? Also why can't you get the same answer from the same facility no matter who answers the phone if they all work for the same office on different days?
