Better option for parents with expired Green Card

Hi! My mother and father in law used to live here in USA, they got green cards. They came home to the Philippines 10 years ago and never came back. My husband's family wanted to bring them over here again.

Are they going to undergo the same process the first time they were petitioned? Or Should they just apply for a tourist visa? They just want to come here for a vacation anyway and don't intend to stay here for a long time.

Which would be the faster option? By the way, they were petitioned before by my sister in law who is a US Citizen.

If they're wanting to come here to visit temporarily for pleasure then the appropriate route would be to apply for a B-2 tourist visa. They would need to demonstrate significant ties to their home country, particularly being former LPRs themselves.

tourist visa. they have to start all over again, the GC is for living in the US, if they don't want to live here, then the only option is a tourist visa

i dont understand why some people already have their GC, waited for a long time and let it slipped out of their hands.. they can at least visit US once in a while to keep the GC

To keep your green card you are required to reside in the US , file and pay taxes. If you aren't here more than not then you may lose your green card at anytime. I green card is not a long term visiting pass.
