I'm in the same boat as you... Ours was sent nov 12th, NOA1 nov 19th, and received by CSC as well. NO WORD as of today, I was also wondering the same with who's desk it lands on or slips thru... So I guess CSC is not really any better... Well I hope we all get our NOA2 soon sometime next week!!! I heard NVC is a lot faster than USCIS...

Thanks for the reply Moncherie!

Let's just hope that the "Gov. workers" ( Ha, maybe that's an oxymoron) get back on task after the holidays now. Like you, we do hope to see the process speed up and receive our NOA-2 soon. What is also frustrating for us is that we had sent the original package back in August and it got ripped up in the mail and we had to start all over again... So many who have applied in August are now here in the US and married already... Our best wishes for you two... too!

Thanks to everyone for the Moral support...

We can't imagine going through this without the help of VJ and all of you who have learned along the way. Anyone who has not learned of this site and trying to "go it alone" are probably feeling so lost and frustrated. Having so many folks here that share their experiences throughout the various processes is what keeps us Sane and Hopeful...

We are especially thankful to those who have already gone through the entire gambit but continue to advise and support us newbies that are still trying to muddle our way through the maze... Some of you have been helping now for Years since you have finalized your journey and all we can say is Thank you, Thank you... I'm sure there are so many others who share these thoughts and appreciate all you have given. I hope that once Kris and I get through all this we can also continue and help others with what we have learned.

All the best to everyone!!!

Kris & Chris

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! :( That is frustrating! Just be positive and think positive only. I've been trying to be positive as well and not worry about it so much anymore... My best friend keeps telling me maybe its for the better thats its taking this long.... But who knows, yes i agree I hope things speed up now that the holidays are over. And I also noticed petitions that were filed during the summer already have came to the US and married. I wish he was here already, this whole process and waiting its very hard to be apart for this long. :(

I tried to cross the border into the US with my fiance today and I got turned away. We had some christmas presents that we received at my parents' house in Canada, and they deemed it that we were trying to move my stuff in, even though that wasnt true. They didnt like my proof, even though I did have some, and they said they couldnt verify with my work because it's a holiday. They threatened to take my Nexus card and deny my visa. In the end they just refused my stuff, so I had to come back and drop everything off. The canadian guard told me to take an absolute bare minimum when I visit from now on. It was terrifying. I cant wait for this to all be done!

That really sucks! So did they let you in after you dropped everything off, or not at all?

My fiance and I have travelled back and forth at least 3 times since being engaged, and haven't had any problems. I just tell them I am visiting my boyfriend instead of fiance and they just crack jokes about internet dating and what ever. I've never been asked for extra documentation or anything. My passport is not officially tied to our I129f, so it's not like they will scan it and see that my fiance applied for K1. I just slip my ring off for talking to the guard, and then put it back on when I am done.

It's one of those small "lies" that really make my life a lot easier. I am honest in that I am visiting my significant other, and really don't have any intentions to get married or stay in the US until I get my K1 Visa, so I don't feel the need to make them suspicious.

I understand though, that this is not necessarily your situation, Rhaenerys, and that most of the issues were raised when they saw how much stuff you were bringing in.

Good Morning everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a good New Year as well. I hope that at least some of you have been able to send the holidays with your significant others!!

I have a few quick questions, I'm a little stuck on what to do now. We've received our NOA2 and got the hard copy about 2 weeks ago. I know I've read a few things about calling NVC. I've attempted 2 calls, but both have just immediately gotten busy signals. I also sent an email to them last Monday about our case number and no response.

Will we ever just get a letter, or other notification with our case #, then allowing us to schedule the Medical? Or must I go through NVC to get this information.

Thanks so much!

Couldn't have done this process so far without all of your help. :)

A little late... but HAPPY NEW YEAR all...!!! I hope everyone had a good one...

Still not NVC for us and am getting the "it could take 35 days" answer when I call them. We're at day 33 (I believe). They did tell me that after day 35 they'll do an "internal investigation" to locate the file. I was initially hopeful as we seemed to be going through the system pretty quickly.. then this... I didn't quite understand how some folks that got their NOA2 AFTER us were getting their case numbers already. This system is FRUSTRATING. But most government systems are.

Our lovely journey!!

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

For all the TSC's waiting on NOA2's, if you are unaware you can sign up for "touche" alerts, i.e. that as soon someone touches your case file in a service center you will (should) be alerted. I don't know if this works as I'm still waiting for NOA 2 but hopefully it does so we should know when they are looking at it in a few months time. To learn more about touches see this good guide.

To sign up go to my USCIS and create an account, enter the case number to add it to the table, click the check box next to it and click on email alerts on.

Some days we had to press redial up to 30 times- the busy tone unfortunately just means they are super busy but you can get through if you persist! We found that 8am EST was a good time to call and never waited more than 20-25 minutes to get through :)

Eventually though, the beneficiary receives a letter from the embassy with all of this information so if you don't want the hassle of calling that's fine!

Hope that helps!
