Gunfire was heard inside Canada’s Parliament Wednesday morning shortly after a soldier was reported shot at the nearby National War Memorial. The parliament building has been locked down, and initial reports from politicians at the scene suggest that a lone shooter has been killed.

The shooting comes two days after a Canadian soldier was killed in a hit-and-run that authorities said was an act of terrorism, with the Quebec police arguing that it was a deliberate attack on a uniformed soldier.

This is so sad. I am glued to the news right. It's scary to think there may still be one suspect on the loose.

Condolences to the soldiers' families, both the one is Ottawa today and the one in St Jean two days ago.

I'm just waiting for some crazy politician to blame this on the gun laws in the U.S. the same way they blame Mexico's violence on our gun laws.
