We are in the same situation. CR1 visa for Spouse. NOA2 - Sept. 16th. NVC Case received - Oct. 3rd. Called twice - both times said I need to wait 30 days from 10/3 to be assigned a Case #. This seems to be a new thing that it is taking so long. Please update this thread if anyone with Sept. NOA2's get their Case #'s. I wasn't expecting to wait this long. Trying to have patience but I'm ready to go with this next step.

After posting the message last night before bed...woke up to Email from the NVC. Case # and I.D # assigned. :dancing: Oct. 22nd. So, 19 days from the time they received the case Oct. 3rd to Case assigned. We were able to get into the CEAC system today and am now doing some reading before filling out the DS261. Hope everyone else gets there's soon as well.

Yes, I waited 2 weeks after NOA2 and started calling NVC. I called late between 11pm - 12pm and got through fairly quickly. On my third day calling waiting a couple days in between calls we got a Case Received date of Oct. 3rd. They told me that as long as USCIS had our email then NVC would have it as well and contact us by email when we had a Case # assigned. They told us to expect to wait a month. I called back two more times on different days and was told the same thing. 19 days after Case received date we got the ~ Welcome to "Beneficiaries Name & Address" NVC email - and case & invoice # given. We were then able to access the CEAC website and fill in and submit the DS261. Confirmation message after completing that says "In 3 to 5 business days, your agent should return to the website and sfter singing in , pay the fees (s) due by clicking the FEE PAYMENT button. And so we wait. But we're very relieved to have a case # and it was great to get it on my husbands Birthday! (F)

The last "postal mail" I received from USCIS was my NOA2. After that I left to be with my husband in Thailand and am in Bangkok now. On Sept. 28th. I started calling the NVC from here to see if they had received my case. I called three times. Third call was Oct. 4th and they said my case had been "received" on Oct. 3rd. and I would need to wait 30 days for my case # to be assigned. They said I would receive an email from them. 19 days later I was emailed the Case # by NVC. I have received no postal mail and haven't had my sister open anything that may have come from them as I haven't needed it. Sorry I can not be of more help with what may have come by mail. I completed my DS261 online yesterday and today was able to pay the AOS bill online. Now waiting for that payment to clear and assembling both our AOS & IV packets to mail together. Things seem to be moving quickly now for us. Very exciting but I'm nervous. Best of luck to all ~ hope you get "case received" followed by "case #'s" soon.
