Can u tell me as on form DS-261,who is suppose to be applicant and who is petitioner & beneficiary....In my case my wife is US citizen and applying for me.....i still didn't recieve the case # but as u told me u have recieved so i can hope i will also recieve it soon.....1 more question, did NVC tell u in ur call conversation as when they entered ur case into their system i meant just scanning ur document in their system...because they told me as they scanned my document into their system on 7 oct.

Hi ~ that sounds like good news. I believe your "Oct. 7th" is your "case received" date. (seems like what you're calling "scanned") And yes, they told me that date on the phone. In our case we received the "case #" email 19 days after our case was "received" by NVC. So if it's similar to ours you should be getting your case # any day. However, they did tell us it could take up to 30 days.

As for the DS261. You are now the "Applicant" and the "Beneficiary" Your wife is the "Petitioner" If you're using a lawyer you name them as the "agent" In our case we gave them my information "the petitioner" to act as the "Agent" as we're not using a lawyer. You will give them your email as the applicant as well as your wife's info and both of you will receive correspondence from here on out. Hope this helps :.)

Yes!! That's great news. Yes, I paid my AOS Fee on Oct. 23rd and it showed as paid yesterday Oct. 27th. I also did the online DS261 on Oct. 23rd and it's showing as "completed" online now. At this time we're waiting for the IV fees to open up (right now they're not available to pay) When that happens I've heard the DS260 will open up at that time too. Once the IV fee is showing as paid in the CEAC system then we will mail both packs together per the new NVC guidelines. There is a great thread going on here with very valuable info here~ http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/519920-nvc-process-change/ Join me on that one with others who are on our same timeline ~ it's very helpful. Again, so glad to hear you got your case #! woop woop! (F)
