Hello everyone!

I've been waiting to see if anyone else opened a thread for October but since it hasn't happened yet, here it is!

I mailed my petition on September 30th so I figured I pertained more to October than September. Got my text and email NOA1 this morning and was informed that I'm at the Texas Service Center. Feel free to post anything here!

Did you send express and what time did you drop it off? I sent mine at 3pm priority mail express on the 30th and it was signed for around 1245pm on the 1st. Hang in there, I calculated the time of other filers and it was about 7 to 10 days between sending the packet to getting the text or email.

I sent out the petition on September 30th via USPS Priority and it was confirmed delivered on Friday the 3rd. I have not received NOA1 but believe it is too soon...expecting notification later this week.

I am curious to learn if filing in the fall is delayed during the holiday season and my fiancee is considering applying for a travel visa to visit in Christmas.

My NOA1 came 2 weeks later. Nothing to worth about.

They will be closes for a few days during the holidays. So that won't be able to approve any petitions. But I hope they will get right back and approve faster. But since it's texas I doubt they will. ?

Good luck to all of you

I'm just as brand new to this as you are but I agree with ayla 42 that the holidays will increase the delay but we are in it together. I plan on visiting my fiance some time early next year if I don't see any movement in the process by March 2015. Meanwhile, I am becoming addicted to all the forums on this site haha

A few questions...

For those of you who have received your NOA1 did you get a text or email? Or both? I filled out the e-notification form but wasn't sure exactly how they notify us. Also, how soon did they deduct the filing fee from your account?

My other confusion is about the service centers. Are we automatically directed to the TX service center because I saw there are others around the country. I sent my petition to the TX lockbox though.

Ahhh I hate this waiting game! Mark is coming to see me for Christmas and I will travel to England in February most likely but the goodbyes and waiting around are killer! Do you think the holidays will drastically slow down the process?

Thanks!

Hi -

I got both the text and email at the same time. I sent a money order I bought from the post office so I cannot relate to the deduction of fee from your account.

Service centers: all K-1 petitions are initially sent to the lockboxes (dallas or lewisville) and there they are redirected to the service centers around the country that correspond to the region you live in. There are only a few service centers that process K-1 petitions, maybe someone else is more knowledgeable as to which ones they are. In the past the Texas service center has transferred its petitions to the other service centers due to large backlogs and we are hoping this happens again soon because Texas seems to be slower than the rest.

Your guess is as good as mine on how the holidays will affect the waiting period. That is so exciting that you will see each other soon! I wish I could but i've been gone too long from my own family that I promised to be home for the holidays. Hopefully early next year I can travel to see my fiance. Hope I answered your questions somewhat.

There are only 2 centers that process I-129f's (K-1)...California and Texas. You are processed at the center that handles the geographical location in which you live. You are fortunate in that you will be processed at CSC.

Last year (end of July) Vermont Service Center stopped processing I-129f's and transferred almost all of theirs to TSC which is the main reason TSC fell so far behind. Between August 8th and 12th of this year, TSC transferred a large portion of their I-129f's (April and May filers only) to CSC in order to help reduce their workload. It seems to have helped a little in the interim but they are right back to a crawl. Hopefully, they will transfer another few thousand to CSC to help balance the processing times.

The holidays will slow down approval rates somewhat, especially in December. Government workers tend to get a great deal of time off near Christmas so there will be delays.

Good luck to you. :)

Hello everyone! My fiancé and myself have sent the I-129F file in today by FedEx courier. I am from Canada - Calgary, Alberta so I'm surmising we will go thru California and then have the interview in Vancouver. Now it's time to just sit back and wait for the NOA-2.

We will update our time line as things progress! We wish everyone the best!

The location of the petitioner is what determines where it will be processed, not the country of the beneficiary. But, in this case, you are correct in that it will be CSC as the petitioner is from Washington state. From what I have seen lately, CSC is rapidly approaching the processing times from earlier in the year so you might see something under 2 months. Good luck to you.

No notification yet from UCIS but they did cash my check. I would think that payment of application would come after or at the same time as the first notification but not in my case. I hope that cashing the check is at least a sign their not rejecting my package as a whole.

Thats my 2 cent update. Wish all of you luck!
