Question: what proof should my husband bring for our interview knowing that he is my principal sponsor for the affidavit of support? He had been having problems with his taxes the last two years but he is now communicating with the IRS and making progress with his taxes, I do have my sister as my secondary sponsor and I have all the paperworks needed such as ITR the last 3 years, last 3 months of paycheck and an employment letter from her boss.

I'm thinking of bringing all paperworks my husband had with the IRS just to prove that he has done some progress with his taxes.

Any advice would really help specially those who are already done with their interviews and has a case like mine regarding the affidavit of support.

Thank you and VIVA PIT SEÑOR

He should request payment statement showing that he is settling his debt with the irs. I think as long as he is working with the irs, there should not be a problem. All the best.

i need help... my husband got retired from military and we are still waiting for the whole pension to kick in. We are receiving pension but only half of it and it is not above the poverty line.

My interview is on the 29th of January. My husband was hospitalized recently and we have reason to reschedule the interview. What are your insights? Should we reschedule or look for co joint sponsor? If they will reschedule it how much time they will give us is it a month after the original interview?

If i will get a joint sponsor how much does he need to make?

Take a look at this chart http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf it says how much your sponsor needs to make depending the number of people.

I really don't know when they would give you a new interview... But maybe getting a co joint sponsor would be the best??? If you know someone who can help that way you can do your interview and are done with it

A couple of quick questions for September AOS filers.....

I completed my biometrics on Nov 10th and received my EAD/AP combo card about 10 days ago (Jan 12th)

Based on your timelines, it appears that there are 2 updates before my interview

1. My I485 status is changed to 'Ready for Interview'

2. I receive an email and/or letter with interview date

Is this correct or are there any other updates?

Also, do I get a text/email for update 1 (status changed to 'Ready for Interview') or is this a letter I receive in the mail?

Hi Pygst, yes you will get 2 updates:

Ready for interview - email/text only. No letter in the mail.

Interview is scheduled - email/text stating only the date, then a letter a few days later stating the exact time and what support documents to bring.

Seems people that got an RFE like myself skipped the "ready for interview" step. Mine went straight to "interview is scheduled".
