More updates from a used to be K3er.....

The last I knew we were in administrative review for both the i129f and the i130 being approved by the uscis and both having been sent to the nvc early sept. This week I recieved an email from the NVC regarding the approval of the i130(only a week after being put on administrative review) and that means our K3 is now dead. On to the IR1 track!

DH has travelled to visit us on a visitor visa twice in the last 9 months. Once for 6 weeks(returned to Ireland for 6) and again for 80 days. He's been back in Ireland only 3 1/2 weeks this time and tried to fly in today but was turned away at immigration. I'm thinking this is because of the transfer away from K3 to the IR1. The K3 allowed the spouse to be in the USA while it was at the NVC for processing, but the IR1 doesn't. This is really awful for us as we have 2 little kids who really need their dad!

At least I've got the light at the end of the tunnel having paid the AOS bill and filled in the DS-261. It's just a matter of time at this point, but he's going to miss birthday's and our anniversary and sigh..... I just wish we were together again already.

Best of luck to the rest of you waiting and waiting and waiting.

If you leave the address empty you get a checklist where its mentioned that please put N/A and dont leave columns empty. People who have been checklisted for leaving it empty have sent the form back by writing N/A and have been ok. So dont worry if you have written N/A

I have 2 questions: #1- My wife whom I'm sponsoring to come live with me, is currently unemployed there. Is that a bad thing, or is that something they don't really look at at the time of interview? Reading screenshots of the DS-260, question 12 of part 1 asks "Present Occupation", I wanna put "unemployed" because that's what she really is. Would that be ok? Question #2- On part 1 of DS-260 screenshots question #3 says, "Full name in Native Alphabet". What really does this mean? Should I just write her whole name, i.e. FIRST, LAST? Thanks in advance for the answers!! I've learned so much here from all of you, I honestly feel confident I can do NVC on my own without a professional because of all of you, so thank you so much.

Congrats! :star: EP is now much faster than sending packages!

I should have done EP instead! :dead: Too late! Oh, well. :bonk:

Thanks so much!!! I think they only started reviewing the packages together very recently, probably would have been the same wait a month ago either way. I'm just so grateful to have another milestone checked off and only a couple more to go.

Wowaa aug 8!!! Congratulations!!! :dancing:

Thanks so much!!! I think they reviewed both of my packages together, my AOS scan date was 7/21.

Congratulations JeffnJazz thats awesome you finally got a cc??

THANK YOU!!! We are both very excited about this awesome news.

Congratulations. ..

Thanks so much!!!

Wanna hear something funny though? When Gus told me case complete, I just about did a cartwheel I was so excited. I wanted to shout it from the hilltops, I wanted to announce it to the world. And then I realized... 95% of the people I tell would be like, "Case complete... does that mean you are moving now?" No, not exactly, but still it is awesome news. So happy to be able to share it with people who can actually understand what it's all about!

Best of luck to the rest of you waiting and waiting and waiting.

I also travelled thrice and two times we went to canada and re-entered (revalidation of I94 without extension of stay). I never had a problem then because i was still in med school here in india.

Now, after reading this I wouldn't try entering with my non immigrant visa. But frankly it's all upto the Officer at the POE. I did always volunteer to tell that i have a pending I 130 and im not planning to apply for adjustment of status as i have school back home and carried a letter of enrollment from my dean.

My 2 cents is your hubby just got unlucky. Most of the time there are no problems entering with a visitor visa or vwp but it's pure luck. Wishing you a speedy CC.

we put on n/a on that part but nvc rep told us we have a checklists by putting n/a instead of same addres.

Which form did you send, I-864 or I-864EZ? I think they are lax with I-864 and they will approve even if you left irrelevant sections blank or put n/a in the second address field. It's the I-864EZ that gets the most checklists.

It doesn't matter if your wife, the beneficiary, is employed or not. And you have to truthfully put unemployed for the present job. What matters is she should not be a public charge when she gets there. That's one of the questions, "Are you likely to be a public charge when you get to the U.S. ?" For the full name in native alphabet, you have to write your wife's name in Spanish, if that is what is her native language.
